An update on the fix would be nice. In the playthrough where I had this bug bite me, I just made do without Shale and my gear, but now I am pretty paranoid about saving often and checking my inventory.

After 26 days this is the reply I got regarding both the Shale and Warden's Keep bug from EA tech Support.

Unfortunaetly at customer support we can only help with issues with the game itself, we cannnot make changes or correct game bugs. You can however report this at the official forums, so that the game developers can take a note of it and investigate this further.
