I am so frustrated with this game....

I purchased Origins Ultimate Edition and my first issue was that my redemption code for the DLCs was blank on the leaflet that comes with the game. So, I waited 40 minutes in EA Chat support and was lucky enough to get the code from a representative. I registered and redeemed that code, and all of the content shows up in my account. It's all there. I have all of the DLCs install from the second disc that comes with the Ultimate Edition, and they show up. BUT, they are still unauthorized. I have tried everything. My service (Updater Service) is running, I am logged into the DA servers under the same account as the content and game are registered but it's just not updating correctly.

I've left the game running for twenty minutes hoping it was just moving slowly. No help. I've also downloaded some of the DLCs directly from the site, wondering if that would make them register correctly. To no avail. All of these DLCs show up as being "available" for redeeming, but I've already redeemed them and they are still not authorizing.

I have been at this for hours. I'm relatively proficient with computers, but I simply cannot get this working. Is there anything I can do? Who can I speak to about this? I read on one of the FAQ pages that there was a link one could go to to get a chat agent to give you the points, but there was no link. The post was by "Padforce" and it mentioned a link but said it was in another guide...

I am so frustrated... I can usually figure these types of things out on my own, but this just doesn't want to work for me. I have read through 20+ different posts and nothing has worked for me. What can I do? I paid for all of this content and I just want to play the game.

I would be EXTREMELY grateful for any help on the matter.

You can't fix it because right now the server that does the authenticating is down. You're basically screwed until they fix it, like everyone else posting about this.

Really? I had no idea... Well, thank you VERY much for letting me know. I was pulling out my hair trying to figure this out.

Thanks for responding. At least I know it's not my game. If I could give you reputation, I would. :)

EDIT: Quick question: Once the DLCs are authorized, will I have to authorize them every time I play, or will they stay authorized? I'd hate to have them stop working any time I go offline or EA's servers go bonkers...

This is extremely unprofessional. To have purchased a game that is 'stand alone' by any definition and not be able to play it due to a lack online service is absurd. Is this not fraud?

No... once the DLC is authorized, simply do not log in.  While you're profile won't update online (no big deal, IMHO), the game will not try to "reauthorize" the DLC.

Not quite true. I have the "vanilla version" of DAO since it release. Now my Dragon Blood Armor and Shale got de-authorized! Even disabling it in the DLcontent section, I can not play DAO!!

I am furiouse! Who the hell dis-authorized my Stuff! BW really got to get their act together or they are doomed!
Bloody Hell.

Once the servers are working... you *must* be online once to authorize the game and the extra content.  It says so on the box, I think.

So when will be available the damn servers?

I really hesitate to buy another game from Bioware.

To many single player games out there doing this whole have to login to your account to authorize/access your goods anymore.....

It would be more simple if you just did all that on the internet, and then you just download it, and install it into your directories like games use to do back in the good old days....

That are they just release CD DLCversions with CD Keys like in The Simes Games , and say screw it to the whole account thing anymore.....

Yeah, all this DRm online logging in BS does is encourage piracy imo. If someone had the game installed illegally they could be playing right now. This was my one week off and I'd planned on doing a playthrough of DA Origins, I've been jazzed about it for two weeks now. Man I'm pissed. I understand that **** breaks, but having out accounts grant us access to the files we need when we can get online makes way more sense. Mifunashiro is right.

And hell, I miss the days of actually owning cd hard copies of the **** you pay for.

even when going to turn the damn servers, making bioware is also piracy. I'm being denied a service for pay.

I'm having the same exact problems today too. All my DLC content isn't working anymore because the dragon age servers are saying Unauthorized.. so I can't continue playing my character! I had my promo code already accepted many months ago. Already tried the basic fix up steps.. doesn't solve the problem. Re-login in doesn't work and same with re-adding the promo code due to its already in their systems with my current account.

What a pain, Bioware...

Having the same problem as most people here mentioned. I have a temporary remedy for this issue. I too noticed that all my stuff was gone. What i did was go to the title screen, and in the left corner logged out. This makes the game play with all dlc installed from the hard drive. That way you can continue playing with all gear earned in dlc packets. However, screenshots will not be uploaded.

Hope this helps.

Nothing is uploaded anyway. My achievement list hasn't updated for nearly two weeks, never mind anything else. Trying to delete an old screenshot from my profile got me an error about not being able to reach the content server or something.

Chatted to tech support about that. The useless wanker I got was absolutely worthless. Didn't understand a ****ing word of what I told him about that. "We know about the serves, we are fixing them". Yeah, sure they are.

You can also load games and start DLC campaigns even if you're logged in, but you just have to be really quick going into those menus when the game starts and the autologin feature starts. I tested that with the Darkspawn Chronicles since I was short a couple of achievements there anyway.

< Here's another sucker to add to the list.

Bioware, kick EA up the arse will ya? I heard these problems with the servers were supposed be fixed this weekend, yet here we still are, waiting ....

I still have the same problem. Have tried everything, but nothing helps. I've tried to run "DAUServiceDiagnostic_beta", but it didn't help either. Anyone who understand the output?

Needless to say I installed the game a couple of time the past days and tried everything including DAUServiceDiagnostic_beta and still s#%$. Personaly I don't want to try any "trick" to run and game, I paid for it and I expect to be working. The upper posts were written one and two months ago and still nothing?? (as far as I known, please anyone inform me for otherwise). The more frustrating thing is that we don't get any official answers. Thank you Bioware you've done a "fine" job... I wonder if you go to a (let's say) restaurant order a meal and only half of what you order come. How would you feel... just wondering.
