[Spectre_ John_Shepard]

If you guys remember, a while back before ME1 Bioware released an email written by Ashley to her sister. In it she mentions a certain James character she had taken a liking too, but who had gotten transferred. Could this potentially be our new squadmate? And what might this mean for Shepard future relationship with Ash? You can read the email here.

Interesting. I had forgotten what that guy's name was in the email. @Hoog it is NEVER too deep when it is 8 months from game release, a sparsely info'd teaser has just been released, you have free time and you have internet access

If I remember right the 'James' was actually a reference to a Bioware developer named James who had left working for the studio prior to Mass Effect's release. So it was probably just intended as a bit of quirky referential humor on Bioware's part.
Then again, I suppose all things are possible.

Also as a side note, my main canon Shepard is actually named James so you know, awkward.
Can't have another James running around messing up my style, especially if he has his eyes on my girl.

It's an inside joke,the "James" referred to in Ashley's email is a BioWare technical designer, who transferred to the Austin studio the day the piece was written.

I think James' surname is more interesting than his first. Being Sanders, he's probably related to Kahlee from the books. Although I don't recall any mention of her ever having any siblings, so...?

Then who the hell is that guy in the trailer?! you can't just dangle the first mass effect character with a british accent in front of us and then not make him a main character! thats racist, he should replace shepard as badass british clock dwelling sniper shepard!!

I can't believe I never noticed that email before. Good find and yeah I think its the same James. This is good though cuz my Canon shep is, for the moment, with Liara and Ash needs somebody too, so yeah I'm happy for her.
