I understand that some weapons are more likely to freeze a target when using cryo rounds.  How well does it work with the Scimitar shotgun?

Cryo works create with the Scimitar. Did a "Cryoguard" playthrough a few months ago using the Scimitar and Improved Cryo Ammo.

Scimitar is the ultimate ammo power weapon, one shot count for eight (pellets) = x8 chance to freeze target and shots that take down defenses and some of the targets health can freeze it (shotguns are the only weapons that can trigger CC effects even when enemies have defenses up and Scimitar's high RoF makes it the best shotgun in that regard).

I often wondered what the best shot gun for cryo ammo is; Scimitar you say?

Scimitar point-blank is powerful enough to strip a normal enemy of his shield (on Insanity) as well as take a bit out of health and cause shotgun pellets count as 8 different damage calls you'd have a good chance of triggering an ammo effect whether it be cryo, incendiary or disrupter ammo.
