Thinking ahead, comparing all the DA games so far, what type of companion would like to see in DA3 (if there is going to be one)?
I miss the dog. I know you can summon it as a sustained ability in DA2 but thats not what I mean. I want a companion that doesn't question or care what I do. Or even better a psychotically evil companion for once. One that gets filled with joy when I kill someone by use of the dialogue wheel because I "felt" like it. Or doesn't mind when I spare someone like the magistrate's son in magistrate's orders, because they understand what its like to have psychotic tendencies. Would of liked to see Merrill with that kind of personality. Combined with that personality, a companion with patience. Was unhappy with Sten & Morrigan in origins, they wanted to just forget bout getting allies, building an army, and go rush to their deaths against the archdemon. Morrigan in particular, I refused her offer and she leaves. She just couldn't have seen my plan in sending Alistair to his death. Perhaps this type of companion existed in Awakening, I do not know as I didn't get a chance to play it.
So what bout the rest of you, what kind of companion do you wish you could have for your character?
DA3 your perfect companion

You... didn't like Morrigan? Not even after she calls the Lothering villagers "cretins"? Or suggests that Alistair should take Sten's place in the cage? ....I cannot relate to this!! =P

Nope. Morrigan was cold & heartless but not really evil. I would of liked a companion like Kolgrim, a reaver. Before someone recommends Fenris, he still had a problem with magic and sided with the templars near the end. I want someone who's got no problem with demons, blood magic, and would rejoice at the sight of the chantry being blown away. Aggressive, psychotic, evil, loyal, patient, while another blood mage with these traits would be nice, I would rather see a reaver companion the next time around.

I agree about Oghren, he's a big fat tub of awesome. Athenril would be cool, too. Or Kardol, from the Legion of the Dead. I always thought his was an interesting character.

Augh. I don't. I prefer the sustained ability and interactions of the DA2 dog to the actual companion. I think mabari dogs are interesting (when they're not mauling my face off) but not enough to have one following me around all the time.
I second Dagna! It would be really interesting to see what happened with her. I kind of have a soft spot for Cullen, too, though I'm not sure how having him as a proper companion would work.

I loved Oghren, but he was a grouchy douche in Awakening. What happened to my crude and funny drinking buddy from Origins??
I think the idea for a truly evil companion would be a hoot.
I would have liked more Cullen in DA2, Methinks he needed some corrupting influence.
I'm sick of preachy companions though- Sebastian made me want to hurl.

Merrill, with access to Creation magic sans the mods, would be the ideal companion. She's the diamond in the rough of DA2.

Just give me Morrigan back, and I will be happy. Preferably with a side of Alistair.

1. A romanceable Varric.
2. A roguish chevalier playboy. Preferrably with authentic accent.
3. An honorable but 'evil' character, a la Canderous or Wrex.

What exactly could Dagna do in a fight? Chatterbox the bad guys to death?

No more pro-Chantry people, please...I could barely tolerate it in Leliana, and Sebastian just drives me crazy. I don't mind the occasional mentions, but no Chantry fanatics pleeeease!
Better yet, make DA3 about us abolishing the Chantry:)

I wouldn't mind a Tal Vashoth, it would be interesting to hear about their side of things be a little more developed from someone who actually is one.
Also, Morrigan leaves because she doesn't give a crap about your "plan" to feed Alistair to the archdemon. She wanted to get knocked up. You wouldn't let her get knocked up. So see you later, ya putz.

A Tal-Vashoth Kossith Female who is non-romanceable. She'd be a Rogue since she'd have to have learned combat on the sly from just observing others. Worked as part of the Tamassaran until she arranged her own "escape". Now just wanders Thedas learning about everything and storing it away in her excellent memory. Joins up with the PC because they're too unpredictable and therefore worthy of her observations.
