Why would she give a damn about you sending Alistiar to his death? If you wanted Alistiar dead, you can just slit his throat. There's only one way for her to get what she wants and it's through the ritual.Devildealer wrote...

True. And she's not fond of him either to feel sentimental about his death.Maria Caliban wrote...

That said i liked DAO companions more than the DA2 ones, apart from Varric (which is weird coz in general i dont like dwarfs so much) and Aveline but maybe its coz i've played way too much the game.
Edit: Perfect companion? Gerald the Witcher with the looks of Cullen

2. Preachy
3. Dark and brooding
4. Give you long and boring lectures on their culture and philosophy

Whatever new characters are introduced in DA3 just please let them NOT be:

So you want a party full of Varrics/Isabelas? That would get old fast.

Also, a Tal-Vashoth would be interesting (Maraas from DA2 perhaps?), as would a Tevinter mage (would be nice to see someone decent from that place - that is, one that doesn't confirm the "white" chantry's fears and instead could show something good (or at least less black on the morality scale) about the imperium).
Oh, and it wouldn't hurt to see Morrigan return. Almost forgot that one.

A qunari (Tal'vashoth) warrior lady.
More dwarf ladies than you can shake a stick at.

The fact that she's not fond of him is the point. To see that whiny heir to the throne get blown up (well despite the body being intact, he's still dead) should make her happy. Slitting his throat just isn't enough and there ws no option to do so. I'd rather have seen him ripped apart, eaten, and digested by the archdemon. I wish there was an option to stop Morrigan from leaving and just kill her on the spot. But I know, her being alive ties to Flemeth for the story, but still they couldn't just pulled what they did with Zevran if you killed him. He just magically comes back to life in the DA2 as if he never died.

I romance Fen all the time and he comes with me to defend the mages. You just don't have your frendship rivalry to 100%.Devildealer wrote...
Nope. Morrigan was cold & heartless but not really evil. I would of liked a companion like Kolgrim, a reaver. Before someone recommends Fenris, he still had a problem with magic and sided with the templars near the end. I want someone who's got no problem with demons, blood magic, and would rejoice at the sight of the chantry being blown away. Aggressive, psychotic, evil, loyal, patient, while another blood mage with these traits would be nice, I would rather see a reaver companion the next time around.
He will even tell you that it is time for him to move on from his past.
If he didn't stay that was your doing; not his. Moreover, if he was that against mages why would you be able to romance/recruit him if you are one?
>>I also hated Morrigan. I never used her in any Origins game because she hated everything.
To put it simply she is a selfish **** and even if you romanced her she was still a selfish ****.
I like to see the different personality types they put in to the games, but I could do with out the Chantry-worshiping holier than thou types. I'm a little tired of them and their banter is irritating (I can't keep Seb in the party because od this and it really ruined him as a love interest for me; plus the chaste ****. What the hell, why...). Varric was good because he was just along for the ride, he is hilarious and is by far one of the best characters to come out of a DA game. More like him and make them romancable too, please.
Merill is too innocent and Isablla is too... uh... carefree -cough-. They don't need to be completely different personality types for romances. I'm just saying. Also, please don't spoil further romances by party banter that calles attention to the fact that a party memeber you are interested in has been in bed with some one you are sligtly disguested by in a previous game setting (Isabella and Anders at the Pearl).
Less plight of oppressed elves/mages groups too. I understand that these are big things, but hearing about it every other conversation is irritating and it really shouldn't define the individuals whole personality; which is the way it feels in this game. Example, it is almost the only thing Anders talks about and if you have Fen and Merill in the party it comes up a lot. I want to know about them beyond their personal strife. Which was what made the Origins charcters so good. They talked about things other than their personal agendas and it gave a better feeling of friendship between the group and your character. I'd also like actual shops back rather than stands. The party banter in some of them in Origins was awesome (Wynn in the Denerim magic shop, for starters). Again, this is something that prompted banter that was based on the characters past and just random get to know you kind of chatter that was missing in this game. All of the current characters seem to really have a one track mind and rarely venture outside of that. In otherwords, don't sum up their lives to the personality/alignment that you have given them. Let them haves some experiences and chatter from their past be it bad or good.
With that being said, please keep the friend/rivalry system. I like the fact that I can, in this game, have a friend I don't have to pander to out of worry they are going to leave my party or try to kill me.

There are some characters that I miss from Origins as well, Oghren in particular. He was just such a freaking riot. I always laughed whenever he was inserted into a conversation. I definately want the sibling to become a more central companion in the next DA (if possible). I actually started to LIKE Carver after he became a Grey Warden and got that stick outta his *** and got himself a purpose, and I have always loved Bethany.
