The opposite of Anders/Fenris/Sebastian. Someone who really doesn't care what you do because they realize you're in charge. I don't care if you get friendship/rivalry points for certain actions, but a lot more badass killing/quirky conversation, a lot less personal agendas (though companion quests are fun).

You know what? I'd like the Dragon Age equivalent of Zaeed from ME2.

A rough merc would be nice. Someone a bit older with a personality of Kurt Russell's Jack O'Neill in the film Stargate not like the humorous version Richard Dean Anderson played in the series.

Some closure would be nice.

Oh, wait, this about companions.  That's a bit harder ...

1.  The mandatory comic relief.  Here's lookin' at you, Varric.  Act 3 would have been oh-so-drab without you.  It would be nice if they have talent during combat, but the sense of humor comes first.
2.  Could we have a bard that isn't hip deep in Chantry business?  Someone that shares little bits of information as we travel along, like Leliana did in Origins, and has a more tales than a herd of horses has behinds?  A bit of roguish charm wouldn't hurt, either.
3.  A meat shield.  If you want to go crazy, make them something interesting, like a cross-breed.  Nothing like being kept from certain death by a half-Qunari.  Imagine the angst that poor soul has been through!  Or not.  The lack of a dark past would rock many boats.
4.  Cullen.  That guy needs to get out more.
5.  A gorgeous elf that I can drool over.  What?  I had to get selfish eventually!  Image IPB

I'd love to see a qunari in the party.
Perhaps Ariane or Finn. Or maybe even Sketch.
Cullen.
Golem/Fade Spirit/Something else weird. I like those.

Going through the origins again, what bout a chasind barbarian companion. A savage but loyal companion. You could save him/her in some way and they owe you a life debt. You know actually I'd like it to be a woman, not like Aveline. One that doesn't dress in all armor, but mostly furs and is alot more muscular, like a body builder. But then again a male Conan like companion would be cool. Now I wouldn't probably go with all bi companions (except for Seb) this time around but I would make this savage companion bi and be sort of a rough romance option. More rough then what Fenris was like. Hopefully this would be a 2h warrior companion.

I personally want either my Warden or Hawke as a companion depending on who we play in 3. I think that would be awesome to deal with the character I created.

For example if we play as Hawke in 3, Warden is a companion.

I think that Morrigan is by far the most interesting and best written character in the DA universe, so she'll be my top pick. Ofcourse this presumes the warden as a possible PC - if not I suppose it's better to keep her NPC.

Morrigan, and maybe some Sten and Alistair.
Also loved the Nathaniel and Velanna banter.

I'd like to revive Sister Petrice. She was one of the nastiest characters I've run into in the DA series. I was upset she died so abruptly, because I wanted to unravel more of her machinations.

I'd revive Duncan, too. He was competent and sexy and rescued me from the Circle. I'm saving his blades for him.

I'm not so into the female Qunari idea, though I would love to find out more about them.

I'd like a male elf mage companion who is sarcastic, ruthless, and unrepentant, but less predictable than Morrigan and not quite as sleazy as Zevran. Anders really let me down when he got all soft after blowing up the Chantry.

I just went through the Urn of Sacred Ashes quest again with Shale, Morrigan and Zevran, and their comments about the urn are priceless. I really get tired of biting my tongue around the Maker-believers. I could deal with Leliana's mystical nuttiness, and enjoyed arguing with Wynne about her beliefs, but Sebastian made me want to puke. I hope he returns in DLC just so I can make him suffer.

An escaped Templar lyrium addict would be entertaining.

I loved Alistair and Varric for their sense of humor, and Oghren for his practical perspective on things and outrageous drunken observations, but I'm not sure I want to travel through another game with them.

A powerful old geezer like Gandalf would be wonderful, too, and a female dwarf.

Morrigan's child.

Female Alistair (in terms of attitude) Warrior with pro-Templar POV.

Cassandra might fill this role.  If she even is a companion in DA3.

A blue hedgehog, a red echidna, and a two-tailed fox.  Sorry, it was your avatar's fault.

A hardened soldier who follows orders without question. Or a sarcastic/funny archer. Like a non-boring Sebastian.

Also... trained bear. Please.

IsabelaImage IPB   but I'm not sure how she could fit back into the story. It would certainly take some thinking.

An ex-templar, who is irritable because of lyrium withdrawal, and doesn't like anything to do with the chantry.

Cullen, with the option to falcon punch him if he says "mages aren't people" again.

Someone like this http://tvtropes.org/...nificentBastard , a magnificent bastard, except on your side, though you can never be sure if you can trust them.Image IPB
