Am I the only person who hated her? She's a hypocrite. Seb is a much better Chantry person than she.

Leliana: I believe in The Maker.
Isabella: Let's have sex.
Leliana: Forget The Maker. I'll go with ****s!

First, what?
Second, the Chantry does not teach that sex is sin. You're thinking of the real life equivalent.
Third, Leliana never took vows of celibacy.
Fourth, what?

She is a lay sister. She never took a vow of chastity. She isn't breaking any chantry law if she has sex with you and Isabela. She only helps you to be a very happy man/woman for one night.

That sounds pretty charitable to me. Posted Image

And again, the current Divine is someone who no doubt did take vows of chastity and yet we know she's at least open to being seduced.

Why did they make Sebastian take a vow then?  Or was that just because they didn't want the pain in the ass reproducing?  If so, I'll have to send Elthina a Christmas card.

She puts the lay in lay sister!

...  I'm so sorry, I had to do it.

To my understanding, members of the Chantry take vows of chastity and poverty to show their single-minded dedication to the Chantry. It has nothing to do with it's views on sex.

Edit: Templars aren't bound by this, so there's little reason to think Seekers are either.

What The Angry One wrote. And in Sebastians case it could be also a kind of penance for his former lifestyle. If we belive him, he was a male Isabela Posted Image

Not only that, unless you harden Leliana she will not have the threesom sex with your warden and Isabella, so its you that are being the hypocrite not her, she objects and stops you unless you harden her.

Especially when you take into consideration that he was shaming his family with his drinking and philandering by the time he was 13 years old.... Posted Image

After reading through another thread earlier, I looked up that Amulet at the Wiki. It's description doesn't really match anything we discover about the Seekers in DA2, so I'm assuming that the name is just a coincidence, or the devs planned something really deep from the start.

The more I think about it, the more blurry things become. Leliana's story in Origins doesn't quite match up with the story in her DLC, which we know because it was said to be a "version" of events. What makes her DLC a little more plausible as the truth however is the presence of Sketch in DA2. That being said, we know that the team couldn't make the DLC set in Orlais for obvious reasons.

Anyway, back on track. I personally feel that Leliana wasn't a spy. She'd been in Lothering for some time, which is backed up by Bethany's comment about the stories Leliana told, which I assume happened over some time. I feel that the change began in Awakening, when she sees the Grand Cleric in Denerim.

Last but not least, I do believe she and my FemAmell are still very much in love, but that things have become a little strained due to the whole magical uprising. Must be hard for Leli, being hopelessly in love with one of the most powerful mages in Thedas on one hand, and trying to put down a new faction of mages on the other.

While wooing the ladies of course. Probably impressed them with his marksmanship first and then practiced his shortsword skill in a private lesson.

You can ask Leliana if she was sent to spy on you in DA:O.

It's under the "I heard that in Orlais minstrels were often spies" dialogue tree.

Warden:  Were you spent here to spy on me?

Leliana: Spy on you? What would you have that a spoiled and bored Orlesian nobleman would want?

Either that's the "the world doesn't revolve around you, jerk!"-response it looks like, or her skillfully dodging the question.

*Edit: Bowdlerized profanity.

When we start to quote her, I would like to remind you all of those to gems:

"People respond eagerly to others who they believe understand them. They seek approval, friendship... sometimes love. This can be exploited."

"Everyone can be seduced by the right woman. The trick is predicting who she is, and becoming her. Master the game, and no one can resist you."

Why would she spy on the last two Wardens in Ferelden? I don't know, but David Gaider already said that there is something big going on with Leliana that we don't know about at the moment. That's also the reason why she is alive, even if you killed her.

Let me introduce you to my second theory: Leliana is the reborn Andraste

(and Sandal is the Maker, but that's not part of the topic Posted Image)

Edit: What I just remembered: In the Darkspawn Cronicles our Warden is dead. Leliana is implied to be in a romance with Alistair. Coincidence?

So Leliana was a seeker all along omgz!

Except we're working under the theory that she got to be seeker because The Divine, Dorothea, knew of her talents from the events in Leliana's song.  The problem is that Dorothea wasn't yet promoted to The Divine, that happened after the events in DAO.

I regard "Sister Nightingale" as a blatent anti-mage retcon by the Devs, but you can justify the notion that Lelianna played you all along (which makes we wish I had left her in Lothering).  While Dorothea wasn't (yet) a Divine during DAO, she was most certainly a very high ranking cleric (a Grand Cleric I think) in Orlais which means she'd have considerably political influence in the chantry.  More than enough to get Lelianna into the Seekers and requisition her for some Fereldan duty when Empress Celene was informed of the Blight by her Warden Commander.

-Polaris

For sake of Accuracy she was a Revered-Mother from Orlais at that point.
