Earlier today I sent in a Support ticket, te answer I got back was less
than helpful. Anyone else have a fix, that might actually have an Idea, I
am 90% sure at this point it is on the Bioware side of things.
Me:
I am getting the Unauthorized content today, Usually the game is on Auto
Login, so I checked to see if that was the Issue. it was not, I have
logged in and out over 10 times, I have also checked the forums and
found I was unable to post, then top it off It says I have zero credits,
I should have credits from buying DA2, and DA:O Ultimate.
I
have every DLC in DA:O, and all but one DLC from ME2, I am getting a bit
peeved that I can't finish my Ultimate DA:O play through.
Bioware TechSupport:
For Windows Vista/Windows 7 - C:\\Users\\All Users\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\
- Navigate to 'C:\\My Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\' and delete the 'AddIns' folder
- In the command line type 'net start DAUpdaterSvc'
- Restart Dragon Age: origins and log in
This does not impact saved games. This only deletes all DLC from the system so you may download the content again.

I had a problem yesterday after just taking a 10 minute break from playing...
Tried to load my SaveGame a few times and kept getting the "contains...blah, blah, blah" message and after a few tries was finally able to load up.
I've seen a few diferent posts about this & I'm beginning to think it may be a server problem on their end.

Yah I am doing one more reinstall, I think the issue has to do with Download installs from EA are not including the game Key. and the servers are now blocking games without key codes listed the way a dvd installer does them. IE steam and EA post the Key to the Bioware server direct, where the DVD games keep the Key loaded in the DAconfig file.
---
My problem is I am not sure how to edit it so it works, and what number counts as a ket code? the Online code, or the game code?

I'm now having the same issue when it worked fine just a few days ago. I've gone through the site and tried to re-apply my keys, but of course, I just get the "key not valid". So it's got to be a server issue or some sort

i've heard that the servers for authorization have gone down so that's why it isn't working. i logged out of my account on the game earlier and played offline and the DLC was working

Yes. Seems like the servers are down and there is no ETA for a fix. I just got off a chat with Bioware help. The agent tried to fob me off with a couple of stock answers that he knew for sure would not work and just waste my time given that the update servers are down and then when I said that I had tried those already and I thought there was a problem with the servers for DAUpdateSvc, he admitted that there were "temporary" problems and that people were working on it. He suggested waiting 24 hours. Given that the problem first presented itself to me about 20 hours ago (and could have been going for 4 hours at that stage) My feeling is that they have had a major sever crash and it could take some time (like up to several days) to rebuild everything from backups.
If you are lucky enough not to have logged in and gone unauthorized since the server went down, then I would definitely advise staying logged out now. You can also make the game playable as per the editing of the addons.xml file below, but be aware that you will lose certain gear like the helm of honnleath and robes of the seeker. I don't know if they will come back when the servers are back.

If you have made sure you are signing in with the correct account, and it still doesn't work, please try following the steps listed below. Be sure to follow these instructions exactly.
Close out of the game. Go to My Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/Settings.
Find the Addins.xml file and open it with Word Pad, Notepad, or any XML editor.
Press Ctrl. A to select all, then Ctrl. C to copy.
Paste the copied text into a new Notepad, Word Pad, or Word document and save the file. This will be your back-up.
Go back to the Addins.xml file and replace all entries that read RequiresAuthorization="1" with RequiresAuthorization="0".
NOTE: Make sure you do not make any other changes.
Save and close the document and try running the game.
If this has no effect, restore settings by pasting the contents of your backup document back into the Addins.xml, then Save and Close

So do I have this right? The scheme that they've cooked up to prevent piracy just results in paying customers being unable to play the game, while the pirates presumably can continue to play without interruption? I bet they don't have to put the disc in every time, either.

Actually I suspect it's a combination of digital rights management and laziness. DA2 shows they can correct the DLC authorization issues with the engine... since DA2 uses a different system. But it's obvious, based on a lot of threads in the forum concerning unaddressed bugs, etc, that Bioware/EA has gotten their investment back from DAO and moved on.

*sigh* This is really annoying. I cannot play either, and there's no way to get it working. I hate the way honest customers are punished :/
Edit: Logging out allows me to play. So, at least that's good.

Same situation here
I'm logged in game and can't see my Bioware points and my DLCs are unauthorized... really really annoying!
I paid real and "running" money for a COMPLETE OFFLINE game, and now I can't play it because they have to force me to log to some crashing server everytime I have to play this FULL OFFLINE game.
