I too wanted them out of my house. I have to leave the house anyway because I can't even sell crap to Bodahn, so he's absolutely useless. What kind of terrible manservant just lets people waltz into my house all hours of the day AND night, vandalize my place, and flip through my writing desk and diary as much as they please?

At least Sandal empties the chamber pot, apparently...

Don't forget he lets Isabela carve vulgarity into the stairwell, lets Anders hide manifestos all over the place, and lets Sandal swing on the chandelier.

...  Where does Anders even get all those copies of his manifesto?  It's not like there's a Kinko's in Darktown.  First he somehow got the black powder recipe, now he's got a laser printer.  O_o

Too bad you couldn't kick Sandal into the lava, in the Deep Roads, when he said not enchantment. This was an oppurtunity wasted in my opinion.

Well, I don't know about your Hawke, but my Hawke has been coaxing Sandal to churn out elemental resistance runes during his every waking hour. By the end game the Hawke Estate has every inch of it covered with runes, and is now impermeable to fire, lightning storm, blizzard, or any natural or magical disaster. Necessary for a house in Kirkwall if you ask me.

If Anders sets off a bomb under my house, it will still be intact, because of Sandal.

That's enough reasons for Sandal to stay.
