  • There will be 256 cutscenes (totaling 150 minutes) in The Witcher 2
  • The Witcher 2 will have 30 different armor types to choose from
  • You'll only need to suffer through four load screens in the
    sequel
The gfx are insane!!!! Maybe the best actual true RPG of 2011.

If you play their hardest level setting, if you die, you are permently dead!!!

16 endings!!!!

Definitely a more "Adult" based game and not for young kids

Now if DA3 were like this, amazing!!!!

The Witcher 2 has nothing on Arx Fatalis or Ultima Underworld. Graphics don't make a game. Play those then play The Witcher + 2 and you'll see that The Witcher is not that great. Even Origins doesn't compare to Arx. If Wither 2 tells you that you need to eat food to survive in the game, then maybe it could compare but it still wouldn't beat Arx. In Arx you can actually cook food by throwing it out of your inventory and into a fire. You could fill up your glass with water to drink and you could fish.

I'm pretty sure that even Baldur's Gate has nothing on Arx - a bloody hardcore dungeon crawling dark RPG. So Witcher 2 with its graphics and 16 endings is nothing when all it contains is skill trees and 30 armor sets. No stats, no character creation, nothing.

Always good for a giggle, especially if it's because of a bug.

Can't really see myself putting out for a new PC to play it on.Maybe after Diablo3 is released.

The Witcher was an RPG based off a novel series in Poland. It was really popular in Poland and a game was made. Sales were expected to be low but reviewers and gamers found it to be really really good and it sold very well throughout Europe and America. So much a sequel was demanded. The game has you playing Geralt the White Wolf, a sort of sarcastic deadpan snarker and not very happy Witcher (monster hunter). While you can't really customize his looks there are dialog options and one very complex alchemy system.

Especially the alchemy. Only game i've played where I can have a potion on me incase of any thing. I love being crazy prepared.

How does one "witch"?

I assume "witch" is a verb in order for one to be a witchER.

So what does any of those games have to do with the games contending for 2011 RPG of the year and DA2 possibly being outdone by The Witcher 2?

What I'd really like to know is this: do all the folks who dislike the forced Hawke character automatically dislike the Witcher series? Because that's like half the forum.

@EltonJohn - Played Arx... good game, good atmosphere (those liches freaked me out), but to be honest I prefer The Witcher and the DA series. Eating a chicken drumstick every 30 in-game minutes isn't my idea of fun.

Ask the Polish.

I don't really know either.

The Witcher 2 will of course be better than DA2, the people at CD Project are new to the RPG and gaming bussiness generally, they actually try to inovate and evolve their RPGs from game to game. Bioware has stuck with the same formula since Kotor. Spoken as a bioware fan.

I like the forced Hawke and I haven't got anything against the Witcher. I just wish people would shut the hell up about it. God. Don't make me sick of a game before I've already played it.

Simple... The witcher is born in that way.. the witcher have nice world lores.. The witcher have also so many features to make you feel immersed on the story... And the witcher is way more mature than Da2 in all contents

I've pre-ordered - but this isn't a witcher board.

16 endings will be nice on the other hand, will have me playing it for some time.
