I am really looking forward to it. So far, I liked everything I've seen.
And the amount of bandwagon hate on these forums is quite amusing. I mean, Bethesda forum seems like a peace-loving, open minded sort when compared to this place.

Except there is. As I mentioned in my above post, The Witcher was not known to the English speaking world at the time of release, and all of the existing material for the universe rotates, primarily, around Geralt. It's not like, say, Middle-Earth where there's rather literally dozens of books and stories pertaining to the world, hence why it's able to be more open and free. But with The Witcher, Geralt is the single most prominent character in the series, and it's really all about him. The books, the show, the film - All are about Geralt. The only way the game could make sense is if it was about Geralt. If you remember from the game, he's also one of the last Witchers left (Which, I believe, follows on from the books).

Maybe something more open could happen down the line, we don't know, but The Witcher, as a game, had to be about Geralt. It just wouldn't work any other way.

This a hundred times. Like in the Gothic series, It's about this one certain person, the witcher Geralt.
Heck, even the name of the game should be an obvious pointer, you just can't throw that concept outta the window for the sake of fanservice, which is why I like CD PRojekt(for them staying true to the original, not because of restricting female characters, just sayin' for all those sexist accusers).

Believe me the Wticher forum has the same amount bandwagon of hate for bioware, I think it is mutual feeling and about the game well I like the first even with is downsides which were a lot but I expect a great rpg on May.

What I find kinda funny is that TW 2 has actually things that most ppl said they hate about DA 2 console port, action game, no tactical camera, shorten dialogs, etc so yup it is kinda of ironic

i think it's mostly just expectations out of a franchise... ie: while i love Bioware's more linear style games, if the next Elder Scrolls were linear i'd be pissed

The next Elder Scrolls is a more open world like Fallout New Vegas and I really doubt that the game will be linear, still D:

I said when they become a "larger company" I never said anywhere about them being independant nor did I even say anything about CDP(RED) specifically.

Oh, really?

IT will be funny though when CDProject becomes a much bigger company than all the fans turn on them for no longer being what they used to be and move on to the next Indie darling.

The bolded part is where you clearly imply (Bit of an oxymoron, I know) that CDProjekt (As a whole or maybe just RED specifically) are independent.

CDProjekt are huge, anyway, just not in an in-your-face way like EA or Craptivision.

So you are basing your opinion that I implied something to be what really happenned.

Still I never said they were an Indie developer/publisher and it is normally true that people like jumping over to smaller/newer developers publishers many times being what many people would term right or wrong as "Indie" (I will take blame for not being more expansive in my explanation since It was written as a joke thus I figured I wouldn't have to leave a 2 paragraph summary of said joke and what people may accept or decline to feel the now broadening scope of the word "Indie" is both meaning as well as losing its meaning.)

But to avoid the wall of text to further explain the explanation it is simple

Did I imply they were Indie? No
Did you assume I implied they were indy? yes

Am I being a told ass about this whole thing since I am not taking it seriously and am actually having fun typing all this to see when people will stop reading?  Sure why not.

Should you take this seriously?   I would honestly be offended if you did........ take me seriously

All versions have no copy protection.

This is apparently incorrect now. The CDProjekt conference thing was today (I believe), but either way The Escapist has a new story about CDProjekt's attitude to DRM, and it mentions that the GOG version is the only one without copy protection.
