I wish Bioware would just release screenshots. Not everyone will have access to Gameinformer, and posting scans isn't allowed.

The scans aren't that hard to find.

Fans were asking to see Ashley with her hair down. Personally I think it looks great and look forward to my Shep seeing her again in ME3

While most of us understand that the picture probably shows her causal, non-combat outfit, we are still concerned that the importance of proper combat gear will be bypassed in the name of sex appeal yet again.

I understand that.. But I find it annoying that people think they have everything figured out, when there isn't too much evidence their claim, except a picture of Ashley with her hair down, wearing some sort of leather suit.

But apparently she's some ****ty Mirandafied **** now.

This is also true. Even if this is her new combat outfit (something we don't know), it's still much more conservative than Miranda's catsuits. The arms/shoulders look armored, and the hips, legs might be as well. With a possibility of more screens and info being released throughout the month, we'll probably have a better idea.

There aren't any yet, just badly taken photos. And when there are scans, chances are they'll be quite well policed, like they were with ME2.
Regardless, it seems unfair, and not a little stupid, to make non-american fans have to use illegal paths to see screenshots.

I think you are mistaking caution and concern for snap judgments.  Of course more information is needed, as Lvl20DM pointed out, but I will be approaching anything new in regards to Ashley with skepticism.

Yes, her outfit is much more military and less skanky than Miri's.  And yes, Alternate Appearance Pack 2 shows that Bioware is indeed paying attention to criticism in regards to Spandex in Space, but still, I'm not entirely sure I'm comfortable with what little we know about the "new" Ashley.

This is not because you always saw Ashley in armor, she can not dress quid. This is not because you have always seen that blue uniform, it can not be a woman outside....

If I recall, Ashley shows of interest to the guys from her company, not a pitcher who doesn't know anything about life. Ashley loves to dance, love where it moves, etc..

It demonstrates a temperament already own to make trips on weekends.

Ashley you know her outside of the ship and mission against Saren ? No.

It's still Ashley. If she had her hair up in a bun there wouldn't be as much subtle nerdrage going around. And she's not wearing a catsuit. People are just so used to her wearing HEAVY armor and now that she's not wearing it they think she's been "Randafied"

This is ridiculous, especially  Ashley's garnment is really conservative and chic at the same time ...

There's absolutely nothing to reveal, it's just a shirt. She is also a woman, not a robot, it is not only a soldier. Even when she goes to shower.... she doesn't wear armor.

Nah but seriously ... And what irritates me is that they claim to defend ashley, but it's totally false, they are reduced  her to a cliche, a simple idea tasteless, with only one child size.

A simple badass soldier, strong, allegedly jammed, (which is not known ashley) who always wears a suit of armor, that's all.

I can't see how being a fan of Ashley and defend it.

I like the way she actually LOOKS.

I'm just saying it doesn't fit her character. Why would she wear light armor and have her hair down? is that supposed to be "casual wear?"

I dunno. :?

There's a debate on this? LOL

I hated her old character model. So boring. It matched her racist c***ish personality. Hopefully she lightens up in ME3 or at least had some change in her perception over time.

She was such a static character in ME and ME2, hopefully she demonstrates more dynamism.

Maybe they have man-piloted mecha by ME3 and that's what they wear? :o
Just a wild guess, of course.

And if that is Ashley, yeah, she does look better, but I also kinda agree w/ Freeride in that it doesn't seem to fit her character (at least as I knew her from the past 2 games...maybe she's changed? OR...that's her sister?!? :o )

*Game Informer spoiler*

Shepard begins on earth at a trial, so maybe she is dressed more informally because she's not begining the game in active duty or combat. Maybe she's there to testify for Shepard and that's what passes for casual wear on a 20 something.

Bah it's obviously what I thought ... I don't understand that others do not have not thought of. If she stands at side of  Shepard, it probably is not going to walk in armor during the trial ..

Especially it is clear to me also, that Ashley will not only one held. Why do so many scandal ? She will wear civilian clothes and armor, see both sides of her personality. What could be better ?

Sometimes, fans, are incomprehensible.

I agree.

They act like Ashley's been sexed up like Miranda. Obviously any woman who lets down her hair and takes off her military armor will look more feminine. That's probably what she normally looks like outside of combat situations.

Seriously, look at the picture of the 'new' Ash and put it next to a picture of Miranda in a similar pose.
Ash's outfit (at the moment) is simply a reskin of Miranda's ME2 outfit.

Not at all, Miranda's outfit has a collar type thing around the neck. Also she shows significantly more skin from her chest up. Miranda's outfit uses a squareish design and widly spaced collar to accentuate her features. Ashly's new clothing is conservative by comparision. In fact the slit from her chest up appears to be similar in size/shape to the one from her ME 1 armor. The difference is, she's not wearing the pink undersuit.

Also, Ashley's new gear has much thicker sleeves than Miranda's almost looking like some type of body armor.

Long story short, her new design is NOT a reskin of Miranda's outfit.

Ashley looks pretty good, imo. A little more feminine, a little more strong, no more gross 1-tone pink armor.

I preferred ME1 Ashley. Tough and real.

Not this catsuit wearing, long haired, big breasted, Miranda clone.

She's a soldier, make her look like one.

Thats why I went to Jack. While she doesnt wear much shes tough, and shes not there to be an obvious "SEX SELLS!!!!" Character.

If you are referring to the fact that it looks lighter then while you are right - it is lighter - Ashley's hair was always brown. Look at her model in ME1/ME2 - specifically at the hair line, though not very high rez, you can clearly see the strands that are brown. So, Ashley's hair is actually brown. As is Mirandas. Miranda's is just very dark - Ashley has kept her hair up in a bun tightly which makes it look darker - that's my rationale anyway.

I wouldn't say she's been Mirandaized. Bioware is pulling a trope here. Ashley cleans up nicely. I can actually imagine Ashley looking at security cam footage of Shepard with Miranda - Ashley getting all pissed off that Shepard is hanging around someone who is more "lady like" - high heels, long hair, etc. So what does she do? Pulls the pin out of her bun and accepts the challenge of beating that cheerleader at her own game. Feel free to ignore my imagination.

Soooo, what reason do we have to hope that she'll have a separate outfit for combat? Information that I've been able to find doesn't indicate party member's outfits will work any differently than they did in ME2.
