In any case, it is still more modern than Miranda's outfit, it has shoulder pads and such. And while there is concern that Ashley might end up being Mirandafied at the same time, I'm just so glad to see that she will be in Mass Effect 3 that I don't mind a little makeover.
I'd rather have a sexed up Ash then no Ash at all. For now, she's doing just fine. Granted, I don't want her to lose any of that military attitude but hey, if giving her a civilian like outfit helps in some way to flesh out her character, I can handle it.
Also I love the fact that her hair is down, as I recall that was something Ash fans wanted to see happen.
Overall, I'm a little dissapointed but the happiness from this whole situation far overrides any dissapointment.

No it's a reskin.Nohvarr wrote...
Not at all, Miranda's outfit has a collar type thing around the neck. Also she shows significantly more skin from her chest up. Miranda's outfit uses a squareish design and widly spaced collar to accentuate her features. Ashly's new clothing is conservative by comparision. In fact the slit from her chest up appears to be similar in size/shape to the one from her ME 1 armor. The difference is, she's not wearing the pink undersuit.
Also, Ashley's new gear has much thicker sleeves than Miranda's almost looking like some type of body armor.
Long story short, her new design is NOT a reskin of Miranda's outfit.
Yes her collar is different, yes the material is different and yes her shoulders are different to Miranda's (although it is just as thick from what I can tell, it is not more amoured).
None of this changes the fact that it's a reskin.
Look at the DLC armours; yes Thane's, Garrus', Grunt's and Tali's look different they are however still just reskins and at the moment that's basically what Ash has got.
Seriously just compare their busts, they're identical.

Soooo, what reason do we have to hope that she'll have a separate outfit for combat? Information that I've been able to find doesn't indicate party member's outfits will work any differently than they did in ME2.
There's also no info that indicates it works the same as ME2. So there's still nothing to worry about, right?

Do note that ashley's suit does have a zipper on the front, IE it is a catsuit and it is not armor. Is this her casual suit and she has armor she wears in combat? I don't know. The first ME3 picture has kaidan in some heavy blue armor, so maybe the ashley's blue catsuit is just what she wears underneath/casual wear.

So Ash likely has armor, or armor plates that go over the suit she's currently depicted as wearing. As for her hair, for all we know, she pulls it up into a bun before going into battle, or always wears a helemt/headpiece that covers her hair.

also for those concerned that she is not recognizable, just wait until you get your hands on ME3 and you hear kim B vocie over you wont have anymore problems.

I honestly don't mind what she looks like, what I'm worried about is if she stays true to her character...
.....Though looking up forums and such I see there are a lot of haters, I just hope Bioware doesn't retcon her traits to placate them.
Agreed. This is my only concern. It doesn't help that the guy who wrote her in ME1 is gone....

Anyway, the magazine shows what seems to be a preliminary model of her (not sure if it's the final version). She's wearing a blue jumpsuit-thing (about as armored as Liara's) and her hair is down.
With the lack of armor, bigger boobs, and abandonment of a military hairstyle, there have been many complaints (several of them from me) that she has been "Miranda-fied," but just as many are starting to regret cheating on her.
I don't know. Miranda is like your own personally bioengineered barbie doll ala Cerberus. It's hard to beat her in terms of sex appeal. Even the ME 2 camera agrees with me.
Not really since Miranda is a butterface.

Bioware will finally say that we should not meet the expectations of fans."Oh she lets her hair down and allows her chest to breathe, GAME IS RUINED FOREVER."
" Please Bioware, let Ashley's long hair. " (A request made by us.)
Now : " Bioware Oh, why did not you keep the bun ? "
Hum...
What do you know about M3 ? Nothing. You panic.Ash is a Soldier...she's not going into battle in a catsuit.
It was the same with the trailer a few months ago. You saw only earth contested in the trailer and it was general panic.
" Oh my god, it sucks, there will be only earth attacked in M3, oh my god, I knew that M3 would be human-centric. "
Now, you see that is FALSE.
keep in mind, it remains 8 months, and everything we will not be released immediately.
Then in M2, there were at least 2 clothing for each character ...

Not a reskin; a reskin is using the same model with a different texture. The model is different, I have the GI magazine and closely compared it to Miranda pictures. The boob slit on miranda is square and wide. The collars are straight up. The boob slit on ashley curves into a point higher up in the cleavage area than miranda's does. Also the vertical collars on ashley's suit bend close to the top. As such, it is a different model.
Excellent analysis. We should appoint you official Forum Breast Inspector.
Also, I finally saw the high res pic of Ash, and she totally looks like she's been smokin' some herb.

I don't believe anyone is really complaining about her letting her down (unless of course she keeps it down in combat)Arcian wrote...
Complaints, it's all you people can contribute with.

The issue is the fact that she's gone from wearing practical military clothes/armour (which is very Ashley) to wearing Miranda-esque catsuits (very unAshley) + she's had some major breast implants.

I don't want a Miranda clone, I don't want boob and ass shots of Ash.
I want Ash the badass Soldier.
Hopefully this outfit is for a special occassion or casual and not her combat armor.

The initial picture concerns me. I don't mind the hair (although I thought the original style was more flattering, but that might just be the angle), but I hate the catsuit. One of the reasons I love Ash is that she's a beautiful, strong woman who doesn't need to beat you over the head with her sexuality. Miranda's skintight catsuit was ridiculously impractical, but at least it made sense for her personality. It doesn't mesh with Ashley's persona.
And frankly, I just hate catsuits. As a straight woman they do nothing for me, and there's nothing that riles me more than a female character put in something that looks impractical and uncomfortable simply to titillate.
I had two immediate thoughts when I saw the image. The first was that she looked like she got a Miranda makeover, which immediately followed with me wondering whether Miranda will even be back as a full companion and whether or not they did this so that the unobservant masses might think she's the same person on the ME2 cover art.
The second thought was that I don't like that color on her at all. The pink and white is Ashley's iconic color scheme. If it's supposed to be an Alliance outfit I wish it was at least Alliance navy. The electric blue makes me think of Samus Aran, another badass warrior chick that was turned into a sex object.
I still love Ashley and the news that she'll be back is great regardless. And since the game is still in development, perhaps that's just an initial concept model that will be changed later on. Or like others have said, maybe it's not her actual outfit but something she wears on occasion.
In any case, I personally prefer her in armor than in something that looks sprayed on.

This.
I remember my eyes rolling the first time I saw the poster with Miranda in action, hair flowing freely like its an anti-dandruff comercial. Then in the game they kind of explained it a little bit (genetic engineering blah blah).
Next was the ridiculous costume she was wearing and close up shots of her ass! At the very least some characters made comments about her attire (I believe an asari in her loyalty mission says something), but personally it never made sense to me that someone who's personality said "i'm a professional" would wear a skin-tight outfit at the office and on the battlefield. I mean, does she even change out of that thing? Is Shepard the only one on the 2nd Normandy with a wardrobe!?
Anyway I always liked Ashley's more professional and PRACTICAL look. I loved her character without the need for her ass shaking in my face during conversations.
Long story short,
I'm glad she's back.
I hope she'll be a PERMANENT squad member and not someone who bites it before the second act.
I like the outfit but only if its something she's wearing during her downtime at the start of the game and not a pathetic attempt by Bioware to reinvent her character in order to get Miranda's "oooo she's so hawt" fanbase.
THEY aren't the ones who have been petitioning for her to make a return in ME3 for the past year, we were and we didn't need her to "ooze sexuality" to gain our fandom.
Then again all that has come out so far is one magazine so we'll just have to wait and see.
