I've heard that if a female warden that romances Alistair takes him to the battle against the Archdemon, he will always be the one to slay it... but what if the warden is NOT romancing him? Will the warden then be able to make the sacrifice herself? By the way, Alistair is NOT going to be King, if that matters.

If you are not romancing Alistair and never have, then you should be able to do the sacrifice yourself. If that character ever has been in a romance with him, though, he will do it.
