Weapons must be solidified:Dual barrel Avenger, or anything must either utilize two at once or one by one (overheat), there is already nice system sketch.
Heavy weapons must be heavier it armor vehicles are going to appear, otherwise it will be like going with predator against praetorian.
Logic overall:Shotgun overheat very fast, so main upgrades invested in heat distribution away.Assault rifles make a nice appearance if barrels will be customised heavily - for example you can make revenant with gatling style barrel, fully suitable - decreases heat emission SIGNIFICANTLY.Pistols are jack of all trades.

There must be upgrades and modifications for HEAVY cannons and variety of them.
For example - grenade launcher begs for Distruptor/Inferno grenades, rocket launcher -  mini-javelin torpedoes for anti-armor punch.

As for the scopes - sniper rifles and long range heavy weapons are better choice for them. Assault rifle provide covering fire, not snipe enemies, but still can be used for this too.
Rifles are all about eezo core, battery power, heat dispersion, metal used for rounds.


As for the heavy weapons -  mini version of thanix cannon as heavy weapon will be very powerful beam cannon. 


MELEE??  Adun toridas anyone? or may be their life for Aiur?

I just realized something.

After taking a closer look at all those weapons in Game Informer?

Yeah. Those are ALL THE SAME GUN.

No seriously. Look at 'em closely. Same size, same basic configuration, same basic shape.

Bioware isn't kidding us, different add-ons really WILL change the look of the stuff.

Those guns in the article look awesome and I hope there is at least 10 different guns per weapon class plus the weapon customization. So We can have dozens to hundreds of combinations. :crosses fingers:

Judging from what I'm seeing here, I'd guess that the type of accessory and the type of material you use in the weapon will determine what color the gun is. If I had to guess, I'd say we're looking a -- from top to bottom -- Krogan materials, Geth materials, Salarian materials, and maybe just plain Earth materials

Haha! I don't know about you...but a sick looking N7 decal on the side of the barrel would be amazing. I was thinking like anything too crazy...and really I don't even care about it...just brainstorming about it.

Maybe a Spectre symbol...something at least would look cool. Cause if you think about it...something like that would be better than nothing at all!

What game were you playing? My Adept had the Widow, Mattock and geth plasma shotgun

I just hope the Geth Plasma Shotgun is back and that it retains its absurd synergy with the Infiltrator's Tactical Cloak.

This leads me to a very tasty conclusion:

BioWare is going to for Mass Effect 3 let us use most if not all our weapons from ME2, in addition to atleast 6 new weapon bases, as seen in the pictures

If this information is realistic, then that would be great news. I also like the the idea of limited slots of weapons. No more adepts, that look like soldiers and forced clunky heavy weapons. Hopefully BioWare has something similar in store for companion armors.

ive alwys always always wanted to carry just one weapons that could do it all via assault rifle with grenade launcher, scope, and laser sight. if ME3 comes out with anything like that ill certainly never go back to ME2.

There are more shotties in the game (ME2) than most weapons; Katana, Scimitar, Eviscerator, GPS, Claymore; that's five right there...

I betcha that heavy weapons will be back, but you need to use one of your weapons slots to carry them.  I kinda think there needs to be times where it is REALLY helpful to use the heavy weapons, so they don't become a novelty like ine ME2.  The ability to pick up weapons from the fallen and use them immediately kinda leads me to believe that you have to drop one of your current weapons to do so.  Maybe have it so that if you change weapons, you must drop your newly found one.  This would make the system more forgiving in that you can still do alright if you packed poorly (like bringing a sniper rifle to a claustrophobic cave fight).

Very cool, just read the whole article.  Brings tears to my eyes.  :crying:

One of the pics had a chick with a sword and some kind of amp or possibly a grenade disc in the other hand... I want this for my full blown adept. No freaking guns, just me and my adept with biotic enhanced melee weapons :)

Wow...those four guns really ARE the same base weapon. So, customisable colour scheme, attachments, and everything else imagineable.....Okay, be right back, my brain is exploding.

Okay I'm back. That picture with the Assassin dropping into Shepard's room seems to have him weilding a pistol I don't recognise. Then again, considering that concept art of the customiseable weaponry, it might just be a heavily modified Shuriken...actually, looking closely, it seems to be similar to the Shuriken, with one or two changes.
