If I had to guess, I would say that the graphics in ME3 ARE an improvement over ME2 just like ME2 was an improvement over ME1.

I say this because I was under the assumption that the graphics wouldn't see that huge of a jump again but even with these "phone camera" pics the graphics look really smooth.

Mass Effect 3 looks amazing visually right now...I was just thinking about that too. I didn't think they could get much better or rather, much more out of this engine, but it seems Bioware has waved their magical wand to make things awesome once more!

That's why I'm surprised, I was expecting some high res version of the second game's engine with some new effects, but looks that make some real improvement on it
