At the end Anders blows up the chantry, the templars and Mages want to kill each other and Hawke is going around killing everyone Blood Mages and Templar's alike. Did Sam Peckinpah rise from the dead to create the end of the game?
Does Sam's works usually end with you not sure of what exactly happened?
I sided with the mages and got the impression that they all died and the templars won.

Half the trouble is they didn't want you to kill their precious character Cullen at the end. It was a big fortress I assume they got out side exits.

They could have shown the mages walking out with Hawke, heads held high. Cullen, unlike the other 5 billion ninjas I exploded, realized that fighting the Champion would not end well. He tried to talk Meredith out of it because he knows what's up. And the credits have no music? WTF is up with that? How ****g rushed was this game?

Orsino explicitly told the mages to flee and do all they can to survive. In their place, I wouldn't stick around.Darkhour wrote...

Then what was the point in going to the Gallows? Why didn't everyone just flee?
