Not this again! Well at least I gotta look on the bright side you didn't ask if a candidate was Tali but no to Garrus as well dextro they can't eat the same food w/o one falling over near dead so no kids drell however that's a good question but due to their whole hallucinogen sideeffects I'm thinking no. and no to hanar, and no to elcor, and no to roli, and no to rachni, and no to reaper, and well I'm not sure on Krogan though I'm sure just trying the endeavor would kill you so no to that too.

There are actually some interesting Sci Fi universes that delve into using stuff learned from alien DNA to enhance humans.  Sort of the same stuff we're tinkering with now, to make corn with the DNA of other plants in it, or to make kittens that glow in the dark.

The best example of this I can think of immediately is Old Man's War, by John Scalzi. Here we're doing genemods to improve combat viablility, rather than to make "alien babies," but the science fiction is the same. (Note: also one of the universes most similar in feel to the Mass Effect universe, with relation to humanity's default interactions with other species. Main character is somethig of a Paragade, too.)

So some of the ideas about genetic modification isn't completely out there, but it would most likely be more similar to "figure out why sharks don't get cancer, and try to replicate that effect in humans" kind of thing than out and out true hybrids.

The difficulty with doing that with aliens, though, is that there is no reason for them to have an identical genetic code, even if they are using DNA as they molecule for heredity. Which means a sequence of DNA which makes an protein which causes a useful trait when in the aliens body (or life forms from that alien's planet) could very well be nonsense gibberish (or worse, end up coding for something fatal) when expressed in a human cell.

Unless its ever shown that the genetic code as we know it is actually a chemical inevitability (and the bit of flexibility of the code even here on Earth is evidence against that), then either 1.) it is EXTREMELY improbable that any two independently originated organisms would share the same code, and 2.) if organisms on different planets were found to share the same code, it would be a strong indicator of common origin (for example, evidence for the "panspermia hypothesis").

Of course, it all comes down to how realistic the writers want to be with their biology. ;)

Would it be possible for Shep to have an interspecies child? I know it's possible with the Asari, but I want to know if it is possible with a Turian or Drell.

Simple reason why it's impossible.

IF it could possibly happen, why have over the course of 2 games, several comic books, and a few novels why has there not once been any mention of any sort what so ever of it happening?

And then the creator wants to kill it in the next game.

No amount of bioengineering will ever make human and quarian DNA compatible. I'm sorry, but that's just how science flies.

I wonder if shep will ever have a kid, the greatest hero in the galaxy needs at least one. Would be kind of cool if one of the romances produces one. Doubtful it's possible with a quarian but hell it would need to be put in a bubble for a long time.

Shepard does not need a kid. If the game gives you the option, as long as it's not too jarringly "wtf" (i.e. human/quarian hybrid...guys, I love Tali too, but...but...really?) fine but if it's like "Hooray! The natural culmination of your entire career and life is having a baby!" I'm going to seriously nerdrage.

This is what makes interspecies romps so awesome. You can go at it as many times as you want and you'll never have to deal with unwanted pregnancies.

It's, liek, every hippie's dreams all simultaneously come true at once. After you've thrown in some red sand, anyway.
