I would like my kid with Liara or Tali to grow up into a hero/heroine. hehe.
Or maybe I made him sleep with Jack or Ashley and didn’t know it happened. Backstage(?)

How to create a baby
When trying to create a baby, first take control of Joker and have him leave Shepard and a party member, and leave them at the daycare center. Than, go outside and talk to the old man at the day care center. What he tells you will determine the statistical likelihood of the two having a baby.
If he says:
"The two seem to get along very well." 69.3%
"The two seem to get along." 49.5%
"The two don't seem to like each other." 19.8%
"The two prefer to play with other party members than each other." 0%
And behind the scenes, there will be another diceroll to determine whether or not the old man finds a baby for every 256 steps Joker takes. If "The two don't seem to like each other.", make sure that Joker brings his crutches, because this will require a lot of walking.
Determining the baby's race
First determine the characters' egg groups. The egg groups in Mass Effect include:
humanshape
asari
no eggs
Asari Breeding
Shepard + Liara = Asari
The offspring in this scenario will be Asari, regardless of the partner's race and sex.
Same species breeding
Shepard♀ + Jacob = Human
But you probably could have figured that out yourself.
Same Egg Group breeding
Shepard♀ + Garrus = Human
Shepard♂ + Tali = Quarian
If the characters are different species, but part of the same egg group, the baby will be the same species as the mother.
No eggs Egg Group breeding
Shepard♂ + Miranda = none
Characters part of the "no eggs" egg group are incapable of breeding.
pasing powers down
while the baby will always be a lvl 5 character of the same species as the mother, it can inherit compatible abilities from the father.
If Shepard♀ and Grunt have a baby, it will be a lvl 5 human baby whoknows Fortification.
If Shepard♂ and Tali have a baby, and Shepard is a vangaurd it will be a lvl 5 quarian baby who knows Charge.
I hope this has been helpful.

Ah yes, "the french", we have dismissed that claim.
Actually yes, apparently most humans are in fact 1-4% Neanderthal. However this is only possible because both humans and neanderthals are subspecies of modern human; ****** sapiens sapiens and home sapiens neanderthalensis. Neanderthal dna is found predominantly in those of European and Asian ancestry, as they never spread much beyond Europe, and never reached Africa.
So, shocking, I know, but it looks like you have something in common with the French after all.

No. The fact the Aliens can hardly eat the same foods pretty much confirms the Mass Effect universe still follows basic science.
Well, not really.
I mean we still have a universe where the majority of sentient races are bipedal humanoids. So we've already left "basic science" pretty far behind. And I don't want to hear any of this "but bipedal humanoidism is the official morphological shape of sentience." Bull.
So the reality is somewhere between your "no" and bobobo878's unmitigated genius.

Your post is worthy of a billion facepalms.
It would be biologically impossible for Tali to have a baby with Shep.

No, not really. If Shepard were to have a kid, then he/she would have the same problems we saw in Tali: near impossible expectations, and that's being generous. Tali's expectations were high simply for the quarians, but Shepard's kid(s) would be expected to big, fearless heroes by most of the galaxy.

Here is how you do it: have the kid, but raise him away from the spotlight, so nobody knows who he really is. Then, when he gets his moment, he can choose whether or not to reveal his origins. If he does, it will totally mess with the mind of anyone who ever messed with him. If he doesn't, he can have a normal life if he wants.
I totally didn't steal this idea from one of the greatest comics ever.
Addendum: My Shepard is female (natch) and so there's this awesome "history of female commanding officers" thing going on here that I'd hate to break up. "Oh, Shepard had a kid? And it's a girl? Better start prototyping a new ship."

Depending on how stuff works, you don't need to let anyone know you HAD a kid. If you really can't get away from the spotlight, change your name and get facial reconstruction done. Remember: they used your face on recruitment posters after you died, sure, but then they apparently photoshopped it to not look like you anymore. So really, how many people know what a non-airbrushed, non shopped Shepard looks like?
I'll agree that the plan is complicated, and probably more trouble than it's worth, but I still like it.

Thymine cannot bind to Guanine.
Adenine cannot bind to Cytosine.
Guanine and cytosine cannot bind to uracil.
Thymine, Guanine, Cytosine, Adenine, and uracil cannot bind to any other unknown amino acids that aliens may have in their DNA. Tis basic biology. Sure bio-engineering is possible, but the physical defects that would result wouldn't be worth it.

Actually it is specified that Turians and Quarians have funamentally different DNA, with amino acids mirrored in the other direction, so it cannot possibly bind with ours. This is in the codex.

well, not necessarily. scientists already have the technology to sequence entire genomes and even write their own. I wouldn't be surprised if they had the technology to sequence a strand of DNA and create a strand with opposite chilarity within a decade.CulturalGeekGirl wrote...

The problem with this line of thinking is that even on Earth where all living things are basically related to each other, life is so diverse that species cannot mate outside their own genus (the second lowest taxonomic rank), let alone inside. Even with those who can mate inside their own genus (horses and horse-like animals such as donkeys and zebras), the offspring is most often born sterile (if male) and sometimes with certain defects that cause the animals to die very early into infanthood.
That's why the idea of hybrid breeding between alien species separated by hundred or thousands of light years is completely unthinkable. Since species on earth can't mate outside their own genus, the idea of humans breeding with lifeforms that developed light years away on a different planet with a completely separate taxonomic hierarchy is impossible.
I hope this helped you to understand how it works.
