Why is Morrigan's child non-canon?

Okay I know the child being an Old God baby is non canon. But what makes him non canon. He can be the son of the warden but not the old god baby or he can be the son of a warden from orlais if Morrigan leaves. There is no scenario where Morrigan can't have a child. Also what about that whole thing about him having a destiny in the changing of the world. Is Bioware seriously going to throw that out of the window...

There is no god child as my warden died at the end and there was no child.

If Morigan wants a child she will have to find some other person.

That's what I'm saying the Old God baby is non canon but Morrigan's child isn't.

That's hopeful thinking. The game has a canon, which probably has Morrigan and her godchild in it. I just wish they would come out with this information and tell us what the canon is, rather than bringing Leliana back and saying that death doesn't mean that people stop living.

Maybe she found a few boyfriends during the 10 years.

And the warden's child.

Let me put this simple:
To make a child you need a mother and a father and without the seed of the warden there can be no baby.

And besides: the spirit of the old god could only be sucked towards the baby if it had the tainted genetic material of the warden.

Regardless about 'what we think', BioWare can only answer this question. When the "SW: Knights of the Old Republic" franchise was getting ready for a sequel, BioWare defined the canonized elements of the game. If Morrigan's child was not significant, it would not have been mentioned twice. (1) At the end of "Origins", and (2) at the end of "Witch Hunt". Its definitely on their mind, so I would not be surprised if Morriogan's child does become canon.

Our personal opinions on this mater are useless. Why? We just don't know.

Let me put it more simply. I said the baby doesn't have to be The Warden's child. He doesn't even have to be an old God. All he has to be is Morrigan's child which is canon.

Look at it this way if you go through the ritual she has your or Allistar's baby. If you don't but you have romanced her anyway she has a child anyway. If you don't she goes to Orlais where it is very likely she could have been impregnated by another warden there. In every scenario Morrigan can have a child.

Morrigans child is canon, and though it hasn't been confirmed yet, the use of a 'default' story option, seems to be Bioware leading us slowly to the established canon. Then again I am probably wrong, as I vaguely (very vaguely) remember David Gaider saying something about how they didn't want to make OGB canon.

I know i remember that to but what about all of Morrigan's talk about his destiny and changing the world. I actually think he's the" HE" in Sandal's prophecy.

The canon is probably the "good" guy ending, and a "good" Warden would never trust the evil witch enough to romance her or do the "dark ritual." And let's face it, unless you showered her with gifts, Morrigan spends most of the game getting pissed off at the "good" Warden.

Even if you don't do the "dark ritual," it doesn't mean that Morrigan doesn't have any other way to have a baby and raise it as a powerful apostate. I'm sure Bioware has PLENTY of options on how she could achieve this outside of needing Warden seed. Of course, that assumes that we're ever going to see her again.

What makes the baby special if it's not the OGB though? If the spirit of the Arch demon never went into the child it's just any other kid born to a mage.

Also if the ritual was not performed during the Origins game, there would be no Witch Hunt or any of that storyline at all, especially if the Warden gave their life.

I doubt that OGB will ever be a main character, but I can see it as a villain.

And even if you don't want to, accept it. DA has canon, and OGB and Dark ritual are part of it.

Even if Morrigan did get pregnant after the Blight, it wouldn't be an Old God. Unless she was pregnant at the time if the Archdemon's death, it'll come out a normal human.

Bingo to the bolded part.

Morrigan only has the God Child if you do the ritual.  If not, no god child.  If no gold child, then just some kid.  No big deal.

Outside of a character laughing maniacally and shouting, "Bwa ha ha ha ha! I am the Warden's Child and I have the soul of an OLD GOD! Mwa ha ha ha ha!" how the hell are you going to be able to tell the "god baby" apart from a "normal" powerful apostate raise by Morrigan? If he's a party member, he'll be knocked out as easily as any other member, and if he's an adversary (especially a boss) he'll be long drawn out battle regardless.

Actually the default ending from Origins did the dark ritual. Sure, default doesn't equal canon, but what was the point of having the point of a default option then, instead of simply presenting three equally viable stories? There has to be some reason to having the OGB be the default storyline.

Maybe because his grandmother is Flemeth and isn't there another blight going on in Adefelas. I also doubt he'll be evil Morrigan becomes a bit good in the end. Like I said before how can Morrigan just spout stuff about his destiny in changing the world but yet bioware just forgets him.

Or maybe he can be a choice for a main character. Maybe there are other options and he is one of them. Let us not forget that he is heir to the throne if Allistar doesn't get married and your warden was female.

I can see the point you're making but Morrigan was just some kid as well at one point. I can see how, if they wanted to, they could make her son a big deal whether he has an old god's soul or not. People that had their Warden do the Dark Ritual will just know a specific reason why he's special.

SirLogical -- If you play "Witch Hunt" with a "new" Warden, Morrigan complains that you didn't do the "dark ritual," and laments that now we'll never know what would have happened, so the default is not "god baby."

She only has a baby if someone did the DR with her or if the male Warden had regular sex with her at least once. There's no child otherwise.

I'm rooting for Flemeth, always seemed a nice person, despite perhaps being a powerful mage. Really never done any of my characters harm, Flemeth. Might have been selfish, on occasion, but generally she's been straightforward and honest.

I prefer Flemeth over Morrigan anytime and everytime.

Or after she left she could have had sex with another warden.

OGB is the protaganist for DA3. If you did the ritual, you play as him, if you didn't, you can't play at all.

I don't know if I'd like to see a Dragon Age game with the "god baby" as the lead. After all, it's already established that the "god baby," if he exists, is MALE, so that'll automatically ****** off half the fans. Also, I've already played the Baldur's Gate series, thank you.
