I never thought I'd say this but this chick is ever worse than Viconia DeVir. (at least she has normal sex and has a NORMAL goddamn kid with the PC, holy crap.)

You're thinking of Aerie. Now go sit in the corner and think about the temper tantrum you just threw.

Nope. Viconia never pulled anything this horrendously, disgustingly evil and heartless and selfish and greedy over on the BG hero she loved.

OGB will be a companion = think the pain in the ass Anders x 100.

If your character or Alistair did not do the Dark Ritual, then obviously Morrigan enchanted Riordan in some way. She'll probably explain it all in typical BioWare retcon fashion.

Shall we take bets?

I've never managed to get excited about the OGB because it isn't related to my character. So, I personally could care less if it's cannon or not... though, I do think it's funny that Morrigan may be carrying Alistair's only heir.

But I thought Riordan's gonads weren't acceptable to her.

It's because all this time there was another warden following you around named "Chad" but you never saw him because he was always directly behind you at all times. So when you turn your back on Morrigan guess who's there to give her what she wants....

Okay I know the child being an Old God baby is non canon. But what makes him non canon. He can be the son of the warden but not the old god baby or he can be the son of a warden from orlais if Morrigan leaves. There is no scenario where Morrigan can't have a child. Also what about that whole thing about him having a destiny in the changing of the world. Is Bioware seriously going to throw that out of the window...

If
the player didn't do the Dark Ritual, or didn't get Alistair or Loghain
to do it, then it wasn't done. Had Morrigan figured out some way to
otherwise do it, then nobody would have died when the Archdemon was
slain. If she had some way to go about getting the Archdemon's
soul without resorting to the Dark Ritual as she proposed it, then why
did she go through all the trouble?

We could undoubtedly
come up with some complex Plan B on Morrigan's part whereby she gets the
Archdemon's soul but has to do something far more terrible-- but a)
that removes the player's agency in the biggest single choice of Origins
and B) would probably be pretty lame.

But how much of a role do they intend for it to play in DA3... if they actually decide to make the plot of DA3 relevant to that of the original game? (unlike DA2, for the most part.)

Considering it isn't canon probably not much if any.

Ironic how Mr. Gaider says it's the single biggest choice in Origins, yet they didn't acknowledge that choice not being made in the expansequel.

Has it actually been set as non-canon though?

For our games, we either go through with the ritual (ourself or Alistair/Loghain), or we don't.
That doesn't mean it's canon or non-canon yet, unless it's actually been stated as being non-canon.

Hence the Gaider quote i posted right above this one. Namely the part about "if you didn't do the ritual then it didn't happen".

Except nothing in that quote says whether or not the ritual taking place was canon, only that if you didn't do it, it didn't take place. Obviously if you did, then it did happen. So where is it stated that the ritual and following pregnancy is non-canon or even canon?

:EDIT:
It'll probably be left in limbo until they decide whether or not she'll be in the next game, or a book, or whatever medium they choose to continue with that features post Witch Hunt Morrigan.

Leliana is alive!  Anders is alive!  Doesn't matter if I killed them both in my games.

I'd say these quotes are meaningless based on DA2.

LMAO at Mr. Gaider saying the writing in his own game is lame.  Yep, you got that right.

Apples and Oranges.
I'd say comparing Leliana and Anders retcons to a player agency decision of this magnitude is far fetched. Retconning something so they can bring back NPCs or even voice actors that they liked regardless of a minor plot decision is a little different than a huge decision the PC is thrust into no matter what path he/she takes.

However if a writer telling you it isn't going to happen isn't enough to persuade people than probably nothing is. And yes...thats exactly what Gaider said "My writing is lame" :?...you people make it hard to hate this game in peace.

I want the kid to die. If it becomes an unkillable important character later on, I will officially condemn Bioware forever.

Morrigan's a whoar, Alistair is a snake sucking son of a gun, and Loghain just sucks. I want the OGB to die. Shame she didn't miscarry, of course the world has no such luck once again...

Time to let this topic slink off to the grave where it so deservedly belongs.
