I'm reposting this here, as I'd like to hear if this works for others, and as it is it's just lost in one of the freezing threads.

So I believe, for me at least, the freezing regularity is directly proportional to the number of saved files associated with my active game.

PS3 Slim 120GB (Signed in (until I'm not!), Latest Firmware, Signature Edition)

My first play through I reused about 12 different saves and the game crashed maybe 3 or 4 times.

My second play through I maxed out the saved files (30) and the game became unplayable. I can't get through a boss fight without a crash, and conversations are extremely risky.

Started a third play through, maintaing a lucky number 7 of saved files and it hasn't crashed yet.

I've seen that others have noticed that the game crashes more frequently in later chapters, but it may be that the game crashes more frequently as the number of saved files increases and usually you happen to have more save files in the later chapters... Anyway this is certainly the behaviour I have observed... for whatever it's worth.

Anyone else see an improvement in the number of freezes with fewer saved files?

I have had very little freezing ... but it does happen. I'm on my 3rd playthough now.
1st playthrough has about 5 or 6 saves.
2nd has 3 saves (not including autos) and is only in act 2 ... dreaded Isabella bug awaiting patch
3rd and current current playthrough only had an autosave and it froze during my initial conversation with our Dear Old Uncle before being granted access to Kirkwall.

My machine is 60g thats hardware compatable to ps2 (CECHAxx).
Latest firmware
Regular edition DA2

Having just played Oblivion, the fact that this game has only frozen on me a few times (probably less than 10) feels more like a godsend than a bug though :)
