Always find it strange voice selection in most games, that there is no possibility to chance pitches of them. Such feature would make people able to customize voices to fit their character. The only game I have seen it used is from Soul Calibur on the PS, and that worked great in my taste.

There were a couple I liked, but I agree that most of them didn't seem to fit.

Yes I kinda get that impression, but I am happy we get any choice of voices at all. I play Aion right now too, and boy let me tell you THOSE are horrific voice overs for pc characters....... One of the male voices is the actor who voices Prince Ruko on Avatar: The Last Airbender though.. He's cool.
But I do like the female rogue choice and the neutral middle one too, I guess the seductive one could have it's place but it won't be one of my first choices.

I also recognized Aerie's voice actress, though her name escaped me. It had me flashbacking to about half the cartoon shows I used to watch in the early-mid 90's. While the voice itself is fine, I agree it doesn't feel quite "sultry." As I said before though, we'll probably only hear these voices in combat/during selection with other sounds, so the quality of the PC voices aren't a huge concern for me.
Zuko's voice actor? You mean Dante Basco? He's got a good voice; didn't know he did something for video games, though.

The voices are shamefully bad in general. This is nothing new for Bioware though. For some reason they always get professional voice actors to put on their best Renaissance Faire attendee impression. BG2 had maybe 2-3 tolerable voices, and I ended up making almost every single one of my NWN chars with the same voice. Female voices were usually better, and that continues here. All of the male voices are just atrocious though. Note to Bioware, there are voice timbres between shrill adolescent and bass so low your hear it through your subwoofer.
I've always enjoyed Bioware's voice characters though, and they've only gotten better with time (up to Mass Effect, which I thought set a new standard for game voice acting). So I have high hopes for the voiced NPCs in game, but I hope the PC taunts/battle chat is minimal. I ended up using silent voice sets in the Infinity Engine/Aurora games to avoid hearing my character yell "Down you go!" in his sixth grader voice for the 999th time.

I'd kind of like to be able to play specific/recognizable voice clips to compare different sets, instead of hitting the button and getting my fifth bloodcurdling scream if I'm unlucky. The voices seem a bit over-the-top, though whether it'd be a problem in-game probably depends on how frequently they play during combat. Personally I prefer a minimum of yelling, but each to his own.

"Maniacal" - reminds me of the two psychotic ones in NWN2. They. Were. Excellent!Jonp382 wrote...
I agree, violent doesn't seem very maniacal. They should have at least included one worthy of a straight-jacket.

Alot of the voices are a wee bit off, though I found the human male "experienced" voice worked well for my character.

I found the voices for the ladies to be fine. Wasn't expecting anything great. Kath Soucie is adorable but her voice is too recognizable to me, it'd be distracting. I think for my elf character I chose "cocky."

I quite liked the "Wise" voice for human females which I chose for my first character, although it did remind me of Keira Knightley's "Elizabeth" in the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice and also the BBC version's Elizabeth (the actress' name escapes me), not that that's a bad thing.
