YES.

Even if it's just an email from her, all "So I hear you're together with [ LoveInterest ] now! Could I maybe get some grandkids before you go off getting yourself killed again?"

What about the colonists and Earth born Shepards? There mothers are dead so it would be really awkward.

Yea, that would be nice, would be great if she showed up at the trial.

I hope all backgrounds get served though.

Which is why it wouldn't happen for them, just like the conversation with Hannah Shepard didn't happen for them in ME1.

Are people really this stupid?

Yeah, all backgrounds should get a nice little treat, thus it being fair and all.

I don't know, I kinda imagined having Hannah Shepard with you on the SR2. That'd be REALLLY sweet.

With space shep I'd like to meet his/her mom I mean they died mom emails them and says casually yeah see I heard you were back in town so say hi when you're done doing whatever you're doing? Really? If I was mom of a formally dead kid my ship would track them down board them and I'd get on there and not only demand explanations but kick my kids ass for two years of grief and hell! She did none of those was she on red sands?

I really hated not even being able to respond to her it was sheps mom! Nothing no reply option to tell or hint to her the truth nothing. I would like more emails from her but to meet her would be another maybe Hannah's ship goes up against reapers and its destroyed and shep finds out through say Tali and the Quarians or some non officials source of the attack and he/she rushes there to find the ship in pieces they search for evidence and find an escape pod or several and save some people its then they find out mom may be one of several taken by the reapers as POWs and you get leads through out the game in certain locations of the ship that took her.

Later say midgame we get to find the ship that has them and depending on how diligent and fast players were in actively hunting down this info trail mom will either be a reaper agent (bad), dead (really bad), or relatively ok just injured w/ no to little indoctrination occurring (good) we get her and take her back to a safe port with a well written goodbye scene and details of her plans now.

If mom dies shep is very upset and the present crew try to comfort him/her. If LI is present it becomes a reverse Tali moment where LI is comforting holding shep instead. And unique dialogue choices here

If mom is indoctrinated unique dialogue a reverse Benezia moment shep is caught having to fight and kill his/her own mom! Unique dialogue trying to convince her not to do the orders and also possibly confessing their affection or lack there of for rens over mom then fight and death and depending on prior response shep gave weather he loves his mom or thought she always was a terrible mother shep will either be upset moved to tears or hurt but presenting more of a stone faced appearance for a ren killing the mom was slightly upsetting but nothing to cry over.

It'd be hard to treat the other backgrounds, what does Earth shepard get? A gang member? Really, now...

Would be nice to meet Hannah.

ME3 is supposed to tie up this trilogy; hopefully there are very few loose ends once the curtains close. (I'd ask for no loose ends, but game developers are like politicians and meteorologists in terms of being allowed to fail.)

Earthborn Shep is a Hero on Earth. A bloody icon. Colonist Shep, haven't figured out yet. But yeah my Spacer Shep better have Hannah and Ash at that damn trial or he'll be disappoint.

Also, just to ****** off the people that hopped on the bandwagon half way through the trilogy have these background perks only spawn for people that did their background quest way back in ME1. That would be epic.

I don't think we'll see her in person, but it could happen. Fallout 3 changed some physical features of your Dad depending on your choices in character design, ME3 could use something similar, even if its a camera pan at beginning of the game focusing on the crowd (spoiler free?)

I would love this.

She probably won't show up in person, but her kid's on trial for genocide and she's the captain of a dreadnought so hopefully we'll hear from her. Hope she doesn't die.

Or she hops onboard the SR2 as you make your escape.

-I am fine with this-

I didn't like the message she sent in ME2. If i'd been dead for 2 years, my mom wouldn't just say "Oh hi! Heard you were alive! Call me!" She spent 2 years thinking her kid was dead. That can't be fun.

So...the argument goes like this it seems.

"My Earthborn and Colonist Shep don't have a mom! So why does Spacer Shep have a mom!? That is so unfair!!!!"

Splendid

here is important side mission. as you know, not every human in Earth will be died. somebody could be survived in somewhere. anyway, his mission is to search, find mother, and relocate her in safe place just like Miranda loyalty mission if ME 3 team really wants to turn this on.

Haha yeah. I guess we'd all be happy if she showed up one way or another. :)

My Spacer Shep would definitely get in touch ASAP... I mean, she already sent Shep a scolding e-mail about being a stranger. Do you REALLY want a spanking from the woman who gave birth to Shepard???

To paraphrase Gorgo in "300":

"Only Shepard women give birth to real men." ;)

On a more serious note, she's in command of a dreadnought-class vessel serving in the 5th Fleet, under the command of Admiral Hackett himself. I'd say there's a pretty strong chance we'll at least speak with her, if not actually meet her if playing a Spacer Shep.
