Umm from the trailer that was put out their was what 7 million died in the first week??.. if she was in command of an alliance ship chances are she is dead. However it would be nice to have something for all 3 backgrounds to reflect SOMETHING.

I approve! It'd be interesting to meet her and not just some email. That felt like a really cheap way of bringing up that subplot. But really, they should at least meet. Would also be interesting to hear her reaction to Shepard being with *insert love interest here*.

You know how there were two "secret" squaddies in ME2? What if one of Shep's old gang friends joined his crew? That'd be pretty cool, I think.

I would like to see more attention paid to the histories we have given our Shep's...more than just some simple email...another side mission related to our choices would be much appreciated and/or more recognition of our Shep's past in game, from a few NPC's.

Since one of my Sheps has the Spacer background, I wouldn't mind hearing from her. I think it would be cool if we could send emails back and forth to each other where we could choose the tone of our email and send it, but I don't think she'll ever show up. Custom Shep can look and be so varied, it would be hard to visually make the mother appear like their offspring.

That would to nice see Hannah Shepard in person, also maybe for the Colonist background you might meet the one woman that you can stop from shooting herself who also survived the Batarians raid, or possible meeting distant relatives that Shepard stayed with 2 years before joining the Alliance. If at all possible learning which Bartarians attack Shepard's Colony and seek revenge or closure in Shepard life.

There's 14 billion people on Earth.  Shepard's mom is on a Dreadnaught in space.

Chances are, she's not dead.  And since Shepard is on Earth when the Reapers attack and (s)he makes an escape, if Momma Shepard was present, the chances of Shepard not making sure that Momma escapes at the same time are slim.

Therefore, if she's on Earth at the time of the Reaper invasion, she's going to be at Shepard's side, and she's going to escape, unless she dies on-screen.

I have to say, if she dies on screen, I'm gonna be pissed. My Shep has spent a lot of her time doing the impossible and if she can't do something like save her mom, then I'm gonna feel cheated. If there is an option for her to die, then fine. Just so long as it's possible to save her too. I should be able to take her on the Normandy with me, then drop her off as some Alliance base later. (I have to say, the idea of traveling with my mom throughout the entire mission doesn't really do it for me. I just want a scene or something.) Anyway, I love the idea of her being at the trial at least.

Well with earth borns going to earth and there most likely being some kind of treat for them, I don't see why a spacer wouldnt see their mamy. Does spacer Shepard not have a dad? Meeting both parents would make it that extra super spiecial awsome.

Dunno about colonists though.

To my memory, spacer Shep's dad is always referred to at past tense. Or I think so anyway. The few people that write fics on spacer Shep tend to assume that he's dead so I may be projecting that. But if he is alive, then I would love to see that too.

I can't come up with a colonist thing either....

I've noticed that to. Which is why in the one spcer shep fic I wrote he's alive. Anyway back on topic.

Hey,  My Shepherd couldhave hada big sister figure in the reds who helped mold her into the renegade she is today.  Sure,  gangs tend to come off as negative but the comraderie they provide can be truly epic.
