How much would it cost to get all the DLC (excluding the weapon and appearance packs) including Cerberus Network?

  • 160   Appearance Pack #1
  • 560   Arrival
  • 800   Lair of the Shadow Broker
  • 160    Appearance Pack #1
  • 160   Equalizer Pack
  • 560   Overlord
  • 160   Aegis Armor Pack
  • 560   Kasumi
  • 160   Firepower Pack
Total cost of all DLC minus Cerberus Network: 3280 Points, roughly about 40 Dollars. Considering all the content, I'd say it's actually pretty cheap

That much? Didn't seem that way buying it piece by piece and not that I've got any complaints any, most of them are good (minus the AA packs I've skipped) and I've enjoyed all of them :)

Fixed that.
Seriously, the weapons and outfits aren't needed for anything (and should have been included in the main game to begin with. They were planned from the beginning as evidenced by the amount of weapons you can find of each kind. Sadly the industry doesn't work that way anymore)
  • Kasumi DLC... well if you want another DLC character you can only talk to in Zaeed style on the Normandy, go ahead and get her. Her mission has an interesting beginning (infiltrate a mansion/vault) but it turns pretty generic after that. Not a must buy imo.
  • Arrival... I like it for the optional stealth at the beginning alone but there are some issues with the logic imo and it makes the main story of ME2 look rather pointless so be aware of that.
  • Overlord... Overall a nice DLC with some interesting scenes and decisions. Also a fine example of how uncharted worlds COULD have looked like. *sigh*
  • LotSB... Best DLC out there and better than the main game imo. The only DLC I'd call an absolute "must buy"
Oh and there is also a good chance that Bioware will announce a GotY edition soon, so I'd wait if I were you.

I answered this same question in length yesterday, glad I saved it. here I'l just C and P it here:

Cerberus Network

After we answer your questions, I'm going to lay this old thread to rest

You mean to say that without the Cerberus network I will be unable to play future missions/DLCs?

No, you do not need the Cerberus Network to play "Premium DLC"

Premium DLC is DLC that you have to pay for.
Cerberus Network DLC (CB DLC) is DLC that comes "free" if you pay for Cerberus Network [1200 points] or if you plug in a code that is inside every new copy of Mass Effect 2

Or do you mean to say that as long as you have the Cerberus network, whatever missions and stuff that come through it are free? Do you still have to pay for stuff coming through the Cerberus network?

Here's an article that might shed some light:

http://www.escapistm...Mass-Effect-DLC
----

I admit I do not have the Cerberus network and I am contemplating to buy it....but only if it is worth it....i.e. new characters only can be accessed via the network?

This Cerberus network thing is confusing....what is the difference between the Cerberus network and normal DLCs?

"Premium DLC " includes:

ME: Arrival 560pts
Lair of the Shadow Broker 800pts
ME:Overlord 560
Kasumi : New squadmate 560pts
Firepower Weapon Pack 160pts
Aegis Armor Pack 160pts
Equalizer Armor Pack 160pts

Cerberus Network DLC 1200pts   includes

Hammerhead; 3 Short Missions with a hover tank
Zaeed New Squadmate
Cerberus Armor and Shotgun
Normandy Crash Site mission
Arc Projector Heavy Weapon

http://masseffect.wi...erberus_Network

If you ask me, I think it's worth it to have all the DLC for Mass Effect 2. All told, the DLC together means 5gbs, essentially a whole nother game. For 1200 points, it's a bit pricy but it was intended as a punishment to those who did not buy Mass Effect 2 brand new, as every new copy contains a free code for cerberus Network

Have to strongly disagree JB. The DLC is massively overpriced and, let's be honest, it's where Bioware would make a great deal of their profit from. When you look at the amount of playing time for the story DLC compared to the original game, it's a very small percentage for essentially the same price. These days, it actually costs more for the story DLC than a brand-new copy of the game.

I will say this. The Appearance Packs together cost 320 pts.
I felt ashamed for buying, but not so ashamed because I made up for the expense by skipping paying Metro fare for one day. It's really a pittance, but we should never have had to pay for them in the first place.

On Weapon and Armor Packs: If you really enjoyed Mass Effect 2, beyond the story, as in you did a playthrough with each class because you found it so much fun, I HIGHLY recommend getting these as they add a wonderful variety to your Arsenal:
  • 7 new armor pieces
  • 4 new weapons
I like having more choice in how my Shepard looks because spending atleast 20 hours per playthrough, I'm going to be looking at him a lot, and all told, the Weapon and Armor packs together cost 480 pts.  Once again, it's really a pittance, Skip eating out at that expensive deli one day, pack a lunch, DON'T buy that soda and bag of chips because you don't really need it.

I have all the DLC for ME2, and truth be told, I cannot imagine the game any other way. A couple of bucks for my favorite game series of all time? Meh, why not

I'm not saying I like it, but for BioWare, I'll shell it out. If with all the money they get from DLC they can put out a game lke ME3 that supposedly has the quality of Lair of the Shadow Broker, than hell, I'm all for it.

And if you think about it, 30 dollars for an expansion to any game is pretty cheap.
