Hello, I really dont know what to do. I have Windows 7 64 bit system, PC DVD Mass Effect 1 original copy of the game and every time when I try to install it, it says Installation cancelled. First time, I installed it without problems but after installation appeared windows message that installation wasnt installed correctly. So I chose to reinstall it, but after i wrote serial key and selected next, "Installation cancelled" message appeared. So I read this topic http://social.biowar...1/index/1942301 and I moved from writing serial key to installation, but after the game is installed, the "Installation cancelled" text appear again. It persist in safe mode too. Thank you very much for help.

Make sure you are installing as administrator. If you have to, disable your a/v.

If you cant be bothered reading the "How to report an error" thread, and filling out a full error report, theres nothing anyone can do to help you.

You know I have to wonder if the issue isn't with Win7 and the possible changes it makes when you agree the program didn't install correctly and wish to reinstall. That message has always been BS on everything I have installed, because it is older programs not designed for Win7. So does it make changes to something on the second install, and can you simply undo the changes and let it install as it is supposed to?

People I think would avoid the issue if they just said the program installed correctly and NOT let it reinstall.

Win7, and to a lesser extent Vista, are known for stating that something didnt install correctly, when it in fact did. So far I have only seen this error occur on 64 bit versions of the OS, and is definately more prevalent on systems which come with Win7 preinstalled, and not where the user has built up their own system and installed the OS themselves.

Reboot Windows in safe mode using the Admin account and run Setup there (may still need to set compatibility)
