Do you have a new favorite gun so far?

I do! One of the new ones is a *lot* of fun to use. You can do a lot of interesting things with it. I'm sure we'll be going into detail on weapons in the future... you'll probably know which one I'm talking about when we show them.

Apparently Cerberus has ninjas with samurai swords. Not sure how I feel about that. However, I'm guessing like the shock stick it won't be usable, which is good cause all my Shepards would look weird with a sword.

First off, it looks much more like a ninja sword than a Samurai katana.

Secondly, Cerberus already has assassins that excell in close range blades. Read Mass Effect Redemption

Redemption?

You mean, like a book?

Silly man, there are no Mass Effect books.

Just a video game.

And nothing else.

They made a triology of books too, you know, by Drew Karpyshyn?

Clearly you are mistaken, good sir. Everyone knows that Mass effect is only a video game series.

ONLY a video game series.

Or else.

The only way I can see a melee system working in a third person shooter is a system like Gears of War.

I'm not sure if they can pull it off in ME3. It seem strange to add a new mechanic to a system that was pretty robust. The expectations are high and the chances of the system being either broken or useless are also great.

Really strange design ideas. Adding melee weapons to a franchise that never really used it.

heh.

I want to stress that we still don't know if shepard himself has melee weapons, or if it's only that Cerberus Schocktrooper that has it

Then, it's a badly designed system.

Yes lets judge something we haven't seen nor played. That's logical....:pinched:

If there's one spoiler I'd like to have prior to ME3 and nothing else, that would be why TIM wants Shep dead. Right now it doesn't make sense to me, unless it has to do with preventing the Reapers from getting their hands on Shep or something, but then why bring him back in the first place. Oh well, it is Mac Walters we're talking about here.

Eh, I'd given The Illusive Man plenty of reasons to want my Shepard dead.  I'm just suprised it took him this long to figure out I'm more trouble than I'm worth, Image IPB

The big spoiler I'd need is:  Will the Lazarus Project and what it entailed finally be explained?  I mean, Shep still has those "extra parts" in him, right?  Where'd they come from and what do they do exactly?

Article says the SR-2 gets acquired by the Alliance and receives an overhaul, expect new rooms and a lack of Cerberus logos.

Now I think I know why TIM is upset lol EDI is the most important thing on that ship. He won't like the fact that Shepard took everything and ran with it.

Shepard seems alot more agile now, he can roll, jump over low objects and use ladders. He may finally no longer feel like a slightly more limber version of Robocop. Makes it sound like the combat will be even more fluid

Please, could you make a difficulty level higher than insanity? I love ME1 and ME2, but they're way too easy for many people. LEt me guess, is it fully modified Avenger? :)

Keeping skills and level balance is going to be tricky for the new player vs. old player dynamic. You certainly do not want to ask a new player to spec out a level 30 character to start. But then you want to all the old characters to level nicely and not start out too far ahead of the old.

I suspect that is going to work like this. All of your powers are going to be "compressed". The level jumps will be such that four points in a skill translates to 2 and less than four points translates to 1 point. A carry over level 30 then becomes a level 5 character with enough points to support the power compression.

This approach would fit pretty well with the new branching powers. Leveling up will be about evolving a power, not making it stronger (which is all that levels 1-3 do in ME2).

I'm totally okay with this.

And ditch those stupid Cerberus uniforms!

I can't wait to put on my dress blues! I'll look just like Anderson did in ME1 ^_^
