Hmm... that a thresher maw - even a giant one - has a chance against a Reaper significantly reduces the Reapers' level of badass, don't you think? The only way to make that plausible is that they aren't all as tough as Sovereign.

Not really. Kai Leng managed to take down multiple armed Turian soldiers, unarmed and with no shields and armor. This wasn't because armed Turians couldn't take him down, but because he blindsided the Turians. Same with the Thresher. It blindsides the Reaper and gains the upper hand. Hell, it doesn't actually *win*, it just gets held up for a while, by the look of it.

Did anyone notice a hanar from Fornax magazine on the wall behind that assassin jumping on Shep's bed on the Normandy?

Haha there is as well, good spot.

Not to mention in some of the concept art, the Reapers aren't that large. Some look to be about the size of two maybe three buildings.

I'm concerned about this Maw vs Reaper thingy. Supposedly a Maw grabs a Reaper down into the ground? Aren't Reapers like a couple of miles long? That is like an Ant pulling a Tarantula down into the ground.

As i wrote earlier, there's obviously a very, very, very large Maw that has been mentioned in the CDN last year.

A photo taken by Clan Ravanor miners during a drilling operation on the
krogan homeworld of Tuchanka is reigniting debate on the existence of a
colossal thresher maw. The photo, now being viewed widely on the
extranet, adds to a long line of evidence that skeptics call an old and
treasured hoax — and believers call irrefutable proof. For centuries,
krogan settlements bordering Tuchanka’s deserts have told stories of
entire clans swallowed by this colossal thresher maw. While locals claim
the ancient creature is real, no outside sources have confirmed the
beast’s existence.

Thresher Maws can get up to about 90 metres in length I believe.

So far, ME3 sounds really good. But ME2 sounded really good to me and yet I ended up disappointed.

To expand on the character recruitment details in the previous news, without spoilers, it would seem that there will be two types of squad mates; those always available, and those temporarily available. Like with the previous game, Shepard will have an entourage of characters he can rely on for any mission, however some characters will pop up as temporary squad mates in singular missions, similar to how Liara worked in the Mass Effect 2 DLC Lair of the Shadow Broker. While BioWare cannot make every squad mate from both games return as perminent squad mates in Mass Effect 3, they can have many act as temporary squad mates in specific missions.

I like what I'm hearing. I like this a lot

Sovereign was only about 2000m high. We already have the Burj Khalifa which is almost 900m high, and there may well be even taller buildings by the time of ME3. Not to mention that Reaper heights could vary by a couple of hundred metres.

I hope the permanent squaddies aren't only say, Liara, the VS and Sanders (the only ones who can't be dead) and every other character is temporary. :?

11. Species Loyalty cannot only get obtained via Quests

Species Loyalty, eh? Does this mean we finally get a turian planet?

Excuse me, but I'm not too savvy with RPG/MMO-speak, but by "ladders" do you mean a sort of ability (leveling up, upgrading powers, etc.), or physically climbing up a ladder? Image IPB

Yes, climbing up ladders. You need to be lvl 5 to do it

I don't like the sound of this, it seems like many fan favourites will go ignored.

Some areas in the game are multi-level so physically being able to climb ladders is possible for some scenarios. So yes.

I concur. It ends up beeing about the things we take for granted that are beeing removed from the game which they don't tell us in advance.

great tech is used eventually by great developers to make great games.

it's just a matter of who "tests the waters".

ME1 and 2 looks pretty darn good already. Even with some of the crazier Sheploo faces.

When I first read about the Maw vs. Reaper battle, I thought it was a joke made by the user. I'm probably alone with this, but to me that just sounds silly....as I have beaten Maws on foot...with a pistol...

Aww come on :P Think back to your first playthrough on Mass Effect 1, the very very first time you ever saw a thresher maw :P

"The spice must flow." was my first thought :P

I rofled. Seriously

Lmao. This has inspired me to make a Fremen Shepard. Tan skin with Blue-within-blue eyes, all possible with Gibbed Save Editor

Hm Wrex's pet Thresher Maw tries to give Harbie Junior a dirt nap.  If Bioware pull that off it will probably be one of the single best moments in video gaming history

Looks like that to me, too. Though the design could be fairly common so I'm not putting my money on it being Shep's cabin.

Looks really like it.

That's some bad design if anyone can enter by just jumping in through the window. Kinda ruins the purpose of those security doors. Then again, dramatic entry is stylish. :P

Shep told EDI windows were a structural weakness! I wonder if this break in happens prior to the SR-2 refit by the Alliance, they aren't a fan of windows on starships after all.
