As some of you may or may of not noticed, the number of post you have done which is located under your avatar is now gone. Is this permanent, and if so why?

The main forums never had this. The reason it was removed and was never on the other forums is because it promotes spam and power hungry people. People think they are better than othersor special or whatnot when they have a high post count...so it promotes spam unintentionally....unfortunate..but true...

They added in the character manager also (few daysago), you can now delete characters and such.

Edit: Fixed timeframe, thanks Snot

This is most likely permanent, yes. It was part of the site build that went up yesterday. The character manager, on that note, has been available for at least a week.

[Edit]
That is not to say it won't at some point become available elsewhere, like on the profile page. It just won't be flaunted.

Most likely it was a default of the forum code or something.....and they hadn't got around to removing it yet.

We're still in beta. They're trying many things out. If they added it themselves, I'm sure it wasn't with the intention of removing it but to see the effect.

Possibly, but I'm under the impression there isn't a lot of default anything about the site.

I for one am glad of the change. The old forum did show post count on the profile page, but I'm not sure this was great either.
