Both Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2 are up for awards at this years Spike TV Video Game Awards.

Dragon Age: Origins is nominated for PC Game of the Year and RPG of the Year.

Mass Effect 2 is nominated for Most Anticipated Game.

You can vote for the games you want to win, including our great BioWare titles, over at the Spike TV VGA 2009 website here.

I voted for both but I have to admit I only voted for ME2 because there was no Diablo 3 option. <_<

Dumb how they don't have DA:O as a GOTY contender yet they have LFD2 and AC2. Those were good games, but neither were on par with DA in terms of quality.

Where in the nine heIls is Dragon Age at GOTY? And what the heIl, they got Left 4 Dead 2 there, the biggest fracking disappointment of the year(and I'm a L4D addict)!

Wait....Bioware is taking these awards seriously?  Did you even look through some of the categories?!?  It's an absolute joke.  Just look at the "best wii title" category.  Not to mention Dragon Age isn't even nominated for voice acting.  I wouldn't say there is a particularly great character voice, but the sheer quality over such a huge volume has to be worth something.

I would not want to be involved in this joke of a show out of principle.

I voted for dragon age but I couldn't vote for mass effect. I voted starcraft 2 in that category. If mass effect 1 was really good instead of just okay, I may have but I just couldn't do it.

Why wasn't dragon age up for game of the year overall on this site? I realize it might not win, but it should at least be nominated. That site is a joke.

I had zero anticipation for Dragon Age: Origins.  Perhaps that was a marketing mistake, but I'm amazed by how well it turned out.  Not putting it up for Game of the Year is disgusting.  It's the best RPG I've ever played, and I've played a lot of them.  Once again, excellent work, BioWare!

I know it's not a choice, but The Old Republic has become a much more anticipated game for me having played DAO.  I've never played an MMO that really incorporated player-character stories, and I hope it turns out well.

Votes added.

Just wanted to put it out there that I'm a typical Madden/FIFA kinda guy.... was into RPG's back when I was 14-18 got out of it and now 25. Honestly This game is the best RPG I've played to date. I am very pleased with it.

I voted for Dragon Age and for Mass Effect 2. Of course I did.

Dragon Age: Origins is BY FAR the best game of the year. It so much feels like fact, you know what I mean? I'm having a hard time with people not agreeing with me on this. *sigh* Opinions...

ME2, yes...DAO, no. It might have been a good game, but the numerous bugs and gamebusters ruined it for me. Besides, it's only a mix of LOTR, king arthur, catholicism, Beowolf and a little farscape...I love Claudia black.Image IPB

Why was there no DA:O GotY? This is the best game to be released in a long time. I can't even understand that games that got 5-12 hours of gameplay can even be nominated. Like CoD6, 5 hours singleplayer? And DA:O that got like 60 hours or more. The value of the game alone should beat these games out of the GotY award. Darn Gramers, always gets what they whant. A hype they don't deserve.

Yeah, it is pathetic.  Shows that these awards are really just about what the most **popular** and **socially acceptable**...bunch of shooters and action games up for awards, all of which, minus 1 are sequels, and all of which, while undoubtedly good games in their own right, will likely be forgotten or surpassed by another sequel within the next couple years.  I'd rather boycott these awards than vote in them....seems like they are really encouraging some of the worst aspects of video games in recent years (i.e. lack of originality, FPS/Action games, sequels sequels sequels).

Yeah its all bs..

Why are slight upgrades over previous game nominated like left4dead and mf2..

They need more games to choose from in every category.

DAO is game of the year, taking the option to select is doesn't make it any less true, everyone who has played it knows so.

I voted for your games, BioWare! But why aren't there more game studios to vote for? :(
