i would like to agree with those who didnt vote in the favor of DA:O because this game does have some game breaking moments and im happy to see people not sit down and take it like most of you probably did the makers really need to see what they are doing and fix the problem at hand instead of rush a 5 year game which i didnt think was possible but yet here we are it has a great story line but i could see a lot of room for improvement besides that its exactly like ff 12 and im surprised nobody noticed that

Game of the year? You have got to be joking. This game should be, at best, rated an 8. I am a Bioware junkie and I almost don't want to believe that Bioware would put out a game that is this flawed with bugs and problems. It truly bugs me that Bioware promised an Epic and didn't deliver. I could write a better story than this. Bioware should be ashamed to even consider putting DA:O up for GotY. Hopefully Mass Effect 2 will deliver, then I would be willing to write this game off as a practical joke that Bioware is playing on us all.

damb i loved mass effect , and i remember after the baldur's gate and icewind dale series , or better the dungeons & dragons license was took away from Bioware , i was sure another decent rpg would be some times away , didnt like all those new rpg's making use of it , so after completing mass effect and DLC's waiting for 2 , and already second halfway thru Dragon Age , i realised these people Bioware have created a totally new world and this game is just the intro , so we are going to see a even more perfected Dragon Age 2 based on this new world and then a 3 and 4 !!!! of course im going to vote for these Dragon Age and Mass Effect as No.1

Perhaps because, at least on the 360, it looks FAR better graphically than DA:O and isn't full of bugs. The people at Valve still know what quality control means and take pride in their work.

I must I admit that I haven't tried DA:O on 360, but I have heard and read that it is only "fairly" good , due to bad gameplay, lousy graphics and tons of bugs, and that L4D2 have gotten great reviews. I went a bit over my head saying that L4D2 didn't deserve a place amongst the GOTY nominees. It just that I am convinced that DA:O on PC is a better game than L4D2 is in general, but since Bioware and EA decide to release DA:O on consoles ( which IMO was a bad idea) I guess L4D2 might deserve its place as a GOTY nominee. 

One more thing... Valve knows indeed how to make good games, but don't come here and say that Bioware doesn't take pride in what they make.

Point taken, though my guess is that EA also had something to do with that final approval.

I'll vote for BioWare games as soon as the 360 DLC achievements are fixed for those who earned them in the first three days and can no longer get them at the moment. So the sooner that is fixed the sooner I will vote and the sooner I'll spread the word to my friends to vote for your games.

Should be the GOTY without question IMO.

I may be skirting the edge of blasphemy here, but DA:O absolutely beat KOTOR, BG, and Mass Effect hands-down in my all-time favorite RPG list.

Stunning. Absolutely stunning. Anyone at Bioware who worked on DA:O is welcome to a free beer if ever they're passing through my neck of the woods!

Nah, just kidding. KotOR is still top of the list for me, but DA:O absolutely beats out Mass Effect and BG without question in my book. We'll see if Mass Effect 2 will be able to top it, but somehow I doubt it. But yes, DA:O should be GOTY, but  I guess these major networks have difficulty offering it to a PC game. Ironically, none of the console games get penalized for substandard PC ports *cough* Modern Warfare 2 *cough*

Love Dragon Age, but my vote will probably go to Mass Effect 2 (when it comes out ofc). I am a sucker for space operas, I guess. ^^
