It's clear that going along to rivalry path is the easiest way to go, but is it worth to try to gain friendship with Carver? Are there different dialogues in Act 2 or 3?
I intend to bring him with me in the Deep Roads Expedition with Anders.

AFAIK, there's not really a friendship path to Carver, as there's not really a rivalry path to Bethany. The firiendsihp/rivalry slider appears to have no effect on them, their reactions seem purely based on the situation.

Actually you can befriend Carver. It depends on what choices you make in different situations. Carver's Friendship or Rivalry can shift by 75 points. If you do not take Carver to the Deep Roads (+10 rivalry) he will join the Templars. If you take Anders and Carver to the Deep Roads he can become a Grey Warden. Otherwise he will die in the Deep Roads without Anders. When the game first starts Carver is already edging to the rival side.

His dialogue doesn't change though whether he is a friend or a rival as far as I can see, which is what the op is asking. I will admit my friend warden carver playthrough hasn't reached Act 3 yet, so that may change but there was no change in Act 1 or the letter you get in Act 2. And since the patch is supposed to hit soon I've not progressed it any further.
