I think I'm one of the strange people that basically played Mass Effect and now DA2 with just the defaults. I think they look great.

I tend to use default male Hawke, because I find his beard epic, it's like playing as Duncan.

The base character designs were excellent. Both looked like Hawke and both had a strong commanding presence. I didn't use the default models though, I get too itchy and have to create something for myself.

My only complaint, though I'm getting used to it, is I felt the lady Hawke voice should have been stronger, more akin to Shepherd. I want my women to be fearless and commanding.

I love the default male Hawke and the default Fem Hawke even more, my primary qualm with the Male hawke however is that his beard is simply a bit TOO overdone from the start and honestly I feel like it's a bit too big when you first create him.

Personally, I like to think of the M Hawke like this initially

Au contraire! I mean, maybe it's because I'm a lady, but I loved Lady Hawke's voice. I thought it was lovely and sexy and femme, but still credible when she got tough and chose the aggressive options. It's also great for flirting and wit.

But different strokes, and your mileage may vary!

I thought the premade for Lady Hawke was lovely, but I love my darker-skinned ladies. I can't help muhself! PLUS they make your whole family match WAT? Amazing.
