Once all the Winters are defeated, I figure an animation should begin; but instead, the game crashes to the desktop.  This is currently the only animation which consistently does that.  Once it got so far as to display "Loading...", but never further than that.

I had an issue with Gamlen's house to begin with, but I copied all the files which have "gamlen" in them from someone else who was patched to the same level (1.01 beta), and that resolved the problem with entering the house. 

It seems like this would be a similar problem, but I tried copying all the files with "seamus" or "wounded coast", and it is still doing the same thing.  I finished the game with one character (male rogue) already, so I know that was the only animation which caused the problem for him - well, of those that he encountered, clearly.

I'd rather not reinstall if I can help it.  What I'm looking for is what file(s) contain this animation?  Also, although this is a strange and possibly painful solution - would it work to put my saved game on a computer where I know the animation worked, play through it, save, and bring my save back to my own system?

I ended up reinstalling after upgrading to Windows 7; I was able to play through this quest.
