Everyone's less awesome than Nate ;-) Poor Stroud as a substitute for Nate he's always going be on the back foot.

I've got a question, ladies:
If I don't import one of my Awakenings Wardens, but start DA2 with the preset history "Ruthless", do I still get to see Nate?

I think it works if you use "Martyr," and have also seen others on the forum say it works with "No Compromise."

 @rapunzel - I don't know you've seen this wiki page.  With the usual accuracy disclaimers for a wiki

What boggles my mind is that "Martyr" gets you the quest to find Nathaniel, but importing a dead Warden doesn't.

Edit: Not that I've actually played with the Martyr history, so maybe it doesn't.

Gah. I was going to post my screenshot of Nate's creepy smile after you agree to let him join the Wardens after sending him off, but I can't find it.

Thanks for the answers everyone!

I looked it up on the wiki (I meant "no compromise", not "ruthless"; no idea where I got that from) and it seems I should get his quest, yay!

And for Nate's creepy smile - the first time I saw it I was ... ...

edit 2: "Martyr" vs importing a dead Warden ( sounds funny!) is indeed strange.

I did "Martyr" last run through and got the dwarves.  But the time I'd done it before that, it worked.  I think it's bugged. Trying to write a Nate story and wanted to meet him again in the Deep Roads.  I wanted to throw my controller!

Another disappointing one here.

Was it so difficult to finish what DA:A started? Wasn't not just Nate himself but all the Howe story not interesting enough for anybody? Won't somebody please think of the children???

If that had happened, Cassandra would have been in a puddle by the end of the story.  She admires underdogs who come back from ruin to conquer.
