Going to be starting Awakening again tomorrow. And thrilled as I will be to play once more, I dread the xbox version of Nate's nose. It's so disappointingly...straight. And rat-like. I want a proper conk, blast it! It boggles my mind that this even happened. Apparently Nate's nose was just too glorious for the budget or some such nonsense.

It should be downloadable content for us poor xbox users, I would totally buy that. *Grumble*

That had generally been the idea behind the picture's inspiration.  It came up during a twitter conversation and how Nathaniel couldn't go pantless at formal ocassions.  I pointed out, why yes he could, just put him in a kilt.

It shows that Nate really likes his new life as a Grey Warden (I think it's a kind of relief for him and a way to do something good after what his father did) and that he also likes to laugh

Nate's definitely all about being a Grey Warden. I think we may have discovered the reason he's not an LI. No angst, issues or personality defects. Once he's settled with his Father's memory (which is about when you go to Amaranthine to see his sister), he's all good.

I'm so making a sig about that...

Yep yep.. it's a great scene and I totally agree with you about the Wardens.  I do feel like the Wardens gave Nate a new purpose and a way to get that old family honor back.

Hihi... you are right, he has no issues But I am quite sure that Bioware will be able to create some if they make him to a LI in DA3 or an expansion <_<

Well, for me it would be fine as long as he really becomes a fully playable and romancable character... I am willing to do whatever is necessary to "save" him

I'm not so sure about him being completely settled with his father's memory.  Those type of daddy issues just don't go away over night.  I think he's more at peace with things and certainly doesn't want to be like Rendon anymore, but those issues will always be there to some degree.

I do, however, agree that he is all about being a Grey Warden.  Now as to that being the reason he's not an LI... Well, a man's got his needs, don't he?

Perhaps, 'settled' was too strong a word, but I think he's mature enough to deal with it so its not the prime motivator in his every action. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't bring it up in every conversation.

PC: "So, Nate, you reckon these enemies will kill us horribly?"
Nate: "When my father...."
PC: *sigh*

Oh well, I'm still living in my fairy land where Bioware is going to see the light and let us find out how he's dealt with it in more than a 10 minute quest (no matter how epic).
