This is really an argument which should convince Bioware to make a love interest out of him. I really like Anders and love Fenris, but to be honest: Both are really deeply troubled men / elves.... Maybe next time there should be one "complicated" LI and one "normal" one... like in real life... :innocent:

EDIT: Yeah, just opened page 17!!  Not bad for us "brooders", isn't it?

Yeah, he isn't completely without issues, but compared to the other LIs relatively normal.
And by the time he's dating our non - Warden in DA3 there will be issues.

I love Nates and Anders noses. They make their faces so unique. Whenever I see a mod in which they look totally different, I think: Why? But that's just my opinion...

I'm with you on that - I tweak chars slightly - (more scruff and Anders' hair for Alistair) - but prefer to leave them mostly as is.

I'm not so sure about him being completely settled with his father's memory.  Those type of daddy issues just don't go away over night.  I think he's more at peace with things and certainly doesn't want to be like Rendon anymore, but those issues will always be there to some degree.

Yeah. In the early game his life is all about avenging Rendon's death, and little by little he gives up, basically because of his rational nature. But he has strong beliefs which never fade away.

At this point it's when I think the story about relationship with the PC gets interesting. Specially when you play a Tabris: her cousin raped by Nate's brother, herself wanted dead by Nate's father and then when she starts getting over it all, then Nate appears... they start hating each other with a passion and end up friendly talking about little boy dreams and (this is my own imagination) how they respect each other for being completee survivors and how being a Grey Warden makes them fight for the same cause...

Definitely a great story for a LI, and a fanfic goldmine -I'm not much into fanfic so I guess somebody thought about the same story before. D'oh.

Not to mention that being a normal guy with normal issues doesn't make someone less interesting (for some reason Nate reminds me Faramir). OK, that's a weird thing to say for a die-hard Anders fangirl who loves Anders basically because of being a walking tragedy. But surely makes a good change.

PS: Definitely bass player in Motörhead or similar. ZZ Top are more likely to usually perform at weddings down in Orzammar...

I also love Nate's vanilla nose (he looks kinda weird on xbox).

@Avilia: the mods should be thankful we don't post the "other kind" of DAA Nanders here!

@Pris: Nate and the Warden (it works not only with Tabris) sharing a similar fate in the past and now working together for the same cause would be a pretty sweet central theme for a romance imo. My Cousland girl hated him at first, but after a while she was really close to Nate because of that; and they both thought for a while they were sole survivors of their noble lineage. Some kind of unspoken understanding ( I picture them sitting next to each other - outdoors of course - and brooding ).

Edit: re. Nate/Anders pic: I don't know what's hotter, Nate in leather gear or some kind of medium chainmail armour...

Yep yep... when I first heard about Nathaniel, my writer's brain went nuts.  I saw the potentional there for some seriously awesome story time.  I had to run out and write it.

But really, any warden whose life has been touched by Rendon makes for a great story by Nate.  The two have histories bound together by the biology of Rendon's cruelty.

Ah Jamesp81: I just read what you say in your banner (Stories with depressing ending are not necessarily more mature). I totally agree with you on that. I prefer to read a good ending for the characters I learnt to like.

That's another reason why there should be more Nate in the future DA world: He ist just so stoic and funny and brave and wonderful. So a lot of options for him to have a (at least temporary) happy ending
