The Warden gets to do a lot of snark in Origins as well. I just came across one line in the City Elf origin when you speak to the crippled beggar, which has me in stitches; "You are pathetic. Rent yourself out as a table, or something."
I haven't actually taken it because it's just too mean.

Also, I love the one where the Dalish begins the tale of their people by attempting to teach the children about the birds and the bees before being promptly shut down by Hahren Paivel.

What could anyone possibly say when told to rent themselves out as a table? That's horrible.




I'm not sure what Nate got hit with in the Baroness fight, but it screwed up his animations for this cutscene. That kind of looks like a dance move.

Hmm...preconceptions about Nathaniel before Awakenings? Honestly, I don't remember having much of them one way or the other. I noticed his surname sounded familiar, but I had missed his Penny Arcade comic completely and hadn't paid attention to his reveal either. I bought Awakenings because I had gotten quite attached to my canon Warden and wanted a chance to keep playing with her.

Nathaniel kind of snuck up on me, as I believe at least one other poster before me stated. It was a pleasant surprise, though, when I suddenly caught on to the fact that he seemed to be crushing a little on my PC. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Then my imagination ran off with it all.

I don't come onto the forums much, but I do stalk this tread & the Fenris thread.. love the broody ones.

I've only done Awakenings with one of my wardens.. a queen Cousland that married Alistair for love. She never saw the point in blaming Nate for something his father did. She had to keep pinching herself to remind herself that she was happily married when all she wanted was to jump Nate every time she looked at him.

So, I'm curious, did you have any preconceptions about Nathaniel before Awakenings? As far as I recall, he was revealed as a Howe out for revenge before the expansion came out and many spoke of killing him with quite a bit of glee. What were your thoughts about him?

I hadn't read anything about Nathaniel, so my first impression of him was the dialogue in the jail cell.  I knew I would give him a chance when he didn't lie to me about the possibility of killing me.  I was a Cousland married to the King, but I slaked my thirst for revenge when I (rp moment here) kicked his father in the privates just before I slit his throat.

I figured if I let an Antivan Crow live, I could let a Howe live.  It all worked out just fine!

And don't worry about your "long range jobs", Nate, as long as you have no shaky hands  ... and then there's always daggers ( I was young and stupid,but boy is he sexy as a DW).


To answer PuppyFlavours question:
I saw the Penny Arcade Comic and thought: Great, another Howe! - And a jerk like his father... but badass...  ... 
Then I saw him sitting in the dungeon - I had butterflies in my stomach ... and then he opened his mouth - RP was out the window and I was hypnotised.
Coclusion: You've got to be kidding me, David Gaider et al. I stopped fangirling at age 15 - and he's a video game character!!! I already thought Al was pretty sweet hitting on my Wardens, but I wasn't in love ...

edit: Payroo, you are killing me (in a good way)  

edit 2: Please excuse my random responses, but I'm without internet atm. I'm at a friends place this weekend, so I can have my Nate gush fix!

Just found this at DeviantArt. It's by PayRoo who says "SRSLY though, Bioware needs to stop ****blocking this poor man." And she is so right!!!!
