One of the chefs on the cooking show marathon I was watching the other day made Banoffee pie. I didn't realise how easy it was.

Let the baking commence!!! I wonder if it will transport and arrive in an edible condition?

I was thinking more of ordering from a local place and having the pie delivered.  Of course, if the DA folks return to Seattle next year for PAX, I'll end up probably baking the pie or figuring out how to modify it to make cookies.

Yeah a lot of things can and have been hand waved in the DA games.  I'm just thinking after they passed on putting Nate into the game once when it made SO MUCH DAMN SENSE because of hand waving, I'm doubtful they'll put him into DA3 when it /might/ make less sense.

I really was shocked we only got the little cameo we did (I mean I was grateful for it and it is still one of my fav parts of the game).  

I'm just trying to set my expectations low because I don't want to voluntarily feed more tears to Bioware than I already do.

I do think, however, if tumblr this week is any indication that there are a lot more Nate fans out there than folks believe.  They just aren't as vocal as *cough* some of us *cough*.

Sorry, just had to post an irrelevant tangent...

I wrote an annoyed "comical" post many, many months ago, before DA2 came out, comparing Sebastian and Nathaniel.

Basically the joke was about two rogues walking into a bar and meeting for the first time...

"Hi, I am Nathaniel... I am a noble whose family was murdered. I am after revenge! This is my bow!"

"Hi, I am Sebastian... I... am a noble... family, um... this is my bow! oh..."

And now, now they tell us that Sebastian was *meant* to be Nathaniel... *facepalm*.

What was the point of convincing us that they were fully fleshed out and created characters when we were arguing they were pale copies... and BW knew they had redesigned someone, rather than used any original processes.

We *were* right.

Nathaniel should have been in DA2... but considering Anders, does anyone believe they *could* actually bring back the Nathaiel we love??

Imagine if he had... a different VO... no, no, do not let BW destroy any more of what they built... it is all they can do.

I assume Bio's 'handwaving' means too much handwaving. Anders & Leliana both coming back from the dead was probably considered enough - Nate as well might be pushing it a bit. It might have worked if DA2 was set prior to Origins - in fact that would work brilliantly imho.

Oh well, the pessimist in me says the cameo in DA2 is the last we'll see of Nate. Hopefully that pessimist is being too pessimistic but time will tell.

Basically DG said that they knew they were handwaving with Anders, but they really needed him for the story.  Because of that handwaving, they figured it was a bit much to add Nathaniel into the mix as well.  Sad panda = me.  
I am grateful that he is one of the lucky returning DAO characters that actually looks good in DA2 (and sometimes I might even say better).  His voice was a bit gravelly but I just attributed that to him being older and doing WAY too much bard yelling in DAA

I do wonder if/how he would have changed if he played a more dominant role in DA2, but we'll never know!

lol - singing takes it out of you. I noticed that the longer he talks the more 'normal' his voice sounds. Perhaps it was just the excitement of seeing the Champion that made him all breathless ;-)

Erm, not that I spend a lot of time redoing that quest or anything....

And pfft - there's no such thing as too much handwaving if it brings Nate into the story!

Btw. there's the German saying "Wie die Nase eines Mannes, so auch sein Johannes." Meaning something like "Big nose - big John"

The only way Nathaniel could have come back properly was for DG to write him, and he was pretty busy on the other characters.  In retrospect, I am rather glad that they created someone else, because I could not have taken it had they turned Nathaniel into Sebastian of the Vigil!
