Lately I have been speculating about DA3 and I honestly think there is a good chance that Nathaniel could be a companion! To me it makes the most sense that we will be playing as a whole new character (seems to be the pattern) because otherwise we would either have a lot of the same companions or new companions without romance option (unless Hawke is just going to forget about romances in DA2).

It seems plausible too that Nathaniel could be a potential love interest (it worked with Anders) but this is of course just wishful thinking on my part. I just really want him to come back as a companion!!!!

I'm torn about this.  On the one hand, Nathaniel as a LI is a dream come true.  On the other hand, this would upset my head canon, as Nate and my F!Cousland are so totally being the #1 Battle Couple as they work tirelessly to end the blights/undermine the darkspawn/whatever they're up to.  Internal conflict!  Ack!

Re. Natanders: I like the various art about Nate/Anders, it's nicely done, but honestly I can't imagine the two together. Friends yes, but not this close. *shrugs*

@Rapunzel Its very cute - Bali has done a incredible job - the detail on the armour and way he's holding the puppy's paw is just fabulous. The puppy's name is Frederick btw - that's the closest I'll ever come to shipping Anders and Nate 

Seeing Nate as a companion/LI in future game.  I dunno on the one hand everything inside me screams "HELLS YESSSS!!!!" on the other, I hear the little voice saying "Be careful what you wish for."

Perhaps that's the pessimist in me.

Nate as LI? I would risk it! But I liked the character development of Anders and the Anders romance. I thought the drama added much to his character. So I think I could handle it; although a "normal" relationship would be nice as well. (I don't think that's ever going to happen)

Well, just dropping in to say hello and a couple of silly-talking-ministry things:

1. I made my way through Tumblr. In two words: TIME-WASTER. <_< After wasting a whole sunday out of Dragon Age obsession, there's my appreciation for all the "tumblers" who made a happy time-wasting experience of it.

There's a poor soul spamming the DA2 forums asking about the "Nate bug". So, the thing is to either go back to the keep and save the Vigil or take Nate with you to Amaranthine/The Mother in import games, right?
Boy, I'm glad I haven't gotten the bug so far! Rapunzel would be a angry panda.

 I think if Nate isn't with you for the final fights the import counts him as dead. I'm not sure about the Vigil saving as my game is bugged and I actually can't save the Vigil.
 I've never had the former bug - because, you know, I've never left the Vigil without Nate.

Edit - removed an actually that made me sound a bit dim.  Also, now have idea for my new sig.

I also had the Vigil bug; tried it only once. I'm not sure about pre-made imports though...

I've tried one the premades, erm, the one with Nate, not Hero of Ferelden or Ruthless but the other one (Oh, now wait, which one is it? Blah can't remember.)  I found Nate with no problems iirc.

I've used the saved game generator as well - so I could do the quests that comes from saving the Vigil and letting Sophia Dryden live.

Thankfully I've lived a bug free DA2 life when it comes to Nate.
