This is EXACTLY what i was going to post. I think 40 sounds great, but I don't think I am "typical" of Bioware's target audience. Story continuity issues aside, I wonder if DA fans would complain that Nate is too old/not pretty enough for LI status. But then again, Bann Teagan had a healthy following, so who knows?

I hope the age thing wouldn't stop them.  I mean, DA2 has:

1.  A deluded Dalish bloodmage
2.  An insane abomination
3.  An unreliable pirate with commitment issues
4.  A mage hating, amnesiac former elven slave

FYI - PC gamers - the new patch fixes Nate's dialogue about the Architect! Yay for story consistency. I just tested it and he said "killed"...woot to Bioware.

@Tasmen they fixed Merrill's stuff - untested by me. There is a vague reference to quest related issues so I'm hoping lot's of fixes.

I have to admit I'm happy he didn't get hit with the bee-stung look stick, but I do miss the chin warmer and his old 'face'.

I miss the eyebrows - those lovely expressive eyebrows.  Mind, I'm not complaining because DA2 Nate looks scrummy (yes, that's a word) - loss of those eyebrows is a minor thing compared to what could have happened.

Nathaniel's age wouldn't stop me, (in my favourite fantasy books and films the men are usually a little older and thats way more appealing) and its about time that Bioware actually added some older characters especially for a LI...and they should give him back his chin warmer

Hm, I bet on Nate too, his sense of duty and stoic attitude would win.
Fenris is just generally brooding, but he jokes and has some more humor.
Plus, Nate's voice got a even lower and raspy tone...

Speaking of the 40 years old Nate...seriously...with all the odd verging on the scary and somewhat creepy romances we have seen...I would go for a sane man with some years more than my characters anyday.

Hmmm...good idea! I don't know who would win, but I would sure love to WATCH!

I am glad to see all the love for older men in here. Sure, young guys can be fun, but sometimes it's nice to have a man around that has some experience...under his belt.

That would be a close call. Hate to say it but I say that Fenris would win (by a margin) as Nathaniel seems less broody in DA2.

I might have mentioned it over there, I don't remember.  I know I did mention it on the Anders' thread.  I've had this idea for a while...

Fenris would win the brooding contest, but is less desirable for me. Nathaniel's brooding was not as overbearing, and I liked that he still has a slightly lighter side to his personality.
