I really, really REALLY hope we get Nate as a party member in DA3...I miss him so freaking much!!! In my opinion he was easily one of the best characters in Awakening. (Along with Sigrum. She's so cute!!) And how come nobody's posting anymore. It just makes me sad.

Also does anyone besides me think that him and Velanna would have made an awesome couple? I kind of got that impression that they liked each other, and I think them together as a couple would be adorable for some reason.

Yeah, this thread HAS been slow. I guess it's because we had so little of Nate to work with in DA2.
I must admit, his cameo was the highlight of the game for me...but not enough. Need MOAR Nate!

Helping to keep this thread prominent, I'll add that I just thought of a party I'd love to play: Hawke/Warden/DA3person, Nathaniel, Cullen, Fenris. Dream team! Hm. With Carver as a regular substitute. I love all those characters!

I've been replaying Origins to get a new world to import into DA2, and I started Awakenings the other day, so I've been indulging in the Howe. This time I released him and did not conscript him--I prefer that he asks to join the Wardens! He seemed less sullen about becoming one, for sure.

I was struck by how similar Nathaniel and Sebastian were. Rogue archer, grandfather's bow, vengeful streak tempered by a will toward goodness, family loss, a point of turnaround in their lives. Nathaniel is more jovially cynical, however. It is a very dry jovial cynicism.

More Nathaniel please!

I was also replaying Awakening some time ago and I love when he talks in the Blackmarshes about being a boy and thinking of going to the Blackmarshes. Then you can say that you think it's cute and he laughs... adorable :-)
I really think we will see more of him, either in an extension or DA3. They really did a great job with how he looks like in DA2!

I've been a long time lurker on both threads also.. so hello all.
I'm hoping for more Nate in the upcoming DLC, griffin statutes = wardens

That is what I hope as well, but I am afraid we won't see him so soon again, at least not in the first DLC :-( But let's wait and cross fingers.

I really do hope to run into Nathaniel again. He was easily my favorite companion in Awakenings, and IMHO he was one of the few 'returning' companions whose appearance didn't seem in some way unfaithful to the character as presented in DA:O or DA:A.

I will admit I did a certain amount of Squeeing over him in DA2, seeing him grow into his badassery.

I don't think so... I'm not sure anyway. He doesn't show up if you haven't played Awakening at all though. (I recommend finishing it though, it's cool! )

My DA2 imports are typically from abandoned Awakening saves (half-done), and Nathaniel always shows up in Act 3. I don't think it's supposed to work that way, but it always does. I just started my 9th playthrough, so if that's a fluke, it's a consistent (and very welcome!) one.

Nathaniel is arguably one of the best potential LI or companion candidates in the DA universe, and I hope BW seriously considers him for the next installment. I love it that he's not immediately impressed with the warden, or with Hawke, and you have to earn his trust. Those types of relationships are usually the most fulfilling. Man, I can't wait, and I am crossing my fingers.

Nice! I was thinking that Nate would have been so great for the friendship/rivalry romance system. He can be quite sweet when he wants to be, but he also has a darker side. I think he would be equally hot, either way.

That is what I thought as well. But I am afraid we have to wait and see. The wardens in the trailer are unfortunately all unknown to me...

Anyway: I keep on believing that we will get more Nate in the future. He's simply the perfect archer and rogue for DA3, don't you think?

Yep, I also think he would be great for the romance system. He is definitely an honorable man, so he would have had a problem with rude and cruel behaviour or blood magic. On the other hand he also knows that sometimes you have to do... well, what you have to do

Question: I've downloaded Legacy but haven't played it yet. Anyone get through it ? Is Nate involved? Don't mean to spoil it for those who want a surprise, but my curiosity must be satiated. And I can't play until the weekend (damn you, work!).

And was anyone else pausing the video of the Legacy trailer, straining to catch sight of Nate whenever the Wardens were in a frame? Please don't tell me I'm the only one here to do this...then I would really feel like a total dork.

Unfortunately in Germany (and for Playstation 3) Legacy isn't out yet, so I have to wait a bit longer...
