Well first I'd like to apoligize if this thread has been duplicated, I've hadnt been able to find one and I've only seen this argument done in bits and pieces in other threads so

What type of Protaginist do you wish to see for DA3 would you like to see The Warden return as the Hero once again, would you like to see Hawke return in an effort of redemption to rebuild the world he (apparently) flipped over, or a New Protaganist creating their own legend in Thedas.

Personally I'd like to see a new, PLAYER created character, returning to the Origin style creation method. My justification is that:

The Warden
His/Her main tale is ended when the Archdemon died. I'd love for them to be in DA3, to play a pivotal role, but not be the main character once again, it'd feel over empowered to start the game of as The Killer Of The Blight, breaking immersion and frankly be boring Image IPB

The Warden: "I've killed the Blight, so how the hell can this stop me "

Hawke
Hawke' story isn't over, but he doesn't need a whole nother game to end it. I loved the way all my Hawke's turned out, but he got his chance to F*** the world. I'd rather see Hawke's story end in DLC rather than waste it in a new game.

The New Guy
What I hope for most is a return to Origin style character creator, and move on from their. BIOWARF claimed that the Origin system was a chance to introduce players to the world of Thedas. Well thanks to Hawke the whole world is on the Brink of War so I think we might need to be introdeced againImage IPB. But seriously, a new character can see first hand the decisions of  Hawke and the Warden and how they "changed the world".

Well that's my Argument )as weak as it may be) I stand by it. But what do you think?
P.S. No more Framed Narritive, it didnt workImage IPB

EDIT: I forgot to mention that just because I support a new protaganist doesnt mean I don't support the return of Hawke and the Warden as visuale and interactable characters Maybe even team up with the both of them I'd love to see them both play a role in the story, especially the Warden

I want another chance for me to like my Hawke better. So yeah, I'd go with Hawke the same way they did it for Shepard. I just want to continue the story with my Anders romance, you see? The game ending gave me an empty feeling in my gut that I want to fill. I want more of it.

Assuming they don't pull a ME2 and have all our LIs leave us and hate us for circumstances we can't control.
But if we're really lucky, the most popular one will come back for a DLC booty call!

I'd rather have a new protagonist. The origins idea coming back would be great.

New person.

Warden is mute . . . I'd hate to see them use 6 different VA's just to account for the race/sex combinations. Plus, the Blight is over. While I enjoyed the Warden, and I can certainly see Wardens doing things between Blights - for the guy/girl who killed the AD, they deserve some down time.

Hawke - I don't get Hawke. I don't think Hawke is that important, I don't think Hawke did anything special, and I think the story that we got is over . . . Hawke did his thing, and vanished into the sunset. Let the legend remain, but let the truth vanish.

So, give me someone new.

And I agree with the TC and with TAO - please Maker no more framed narrative!!!!

I also agree with the framed narrative. It's interesting as a plot device for movies and books, but not for games. It just ruins if for the RPG players.

New person.

We've had a Hero of Ferelden and a Champion of Kirkwall. I'm thinking it's time to meet the Saviour of Thedas or something.

I'm not sure what Hawke story was supposed to be so I'm unsure if it's over or not.

As much as I really enjoyed the story, I agree with this sentiment.

As for DAIII, I want a new protagonist.

Both of them back.

Finish your damn storylines before jumping to yet another new person.

I actually enjoyed the framed narrative, and thought it was an interesting plot device. However, I wouldn't like this plot device used for future games.

New character with appearances by both your warden (if he lived) and Hawke. And for kicks, let them join your party for a couple of quests/missions.

Let's take it to Orlais next time as well.

End of Dragon Age 3:

Leliana, Bride of the Maker: "And now this new person has vanished just like the Warden and the Champion! WHAT COULD IT ALL MEAN!"

Sandal: "<insert random gibberish here>"

Cassandra: "Stay tuned for Dragon Age 4: The Finale of the Conclusion Part 1!"

I think because of the nature of Hawke's "story" people will feel differently about whether it's finished. During the blight, it was pretty clear. You needed to end the blight. The things left open were pretty limited. But with Hawke, it was really just a subtle inference by the character as to how they fit in with what really may just be random events. Some may have felt commited to the mages or the templars, while others may feel like it was something their Hawke only participated in for lack of choice otherwise. I think, for example, a person who was overall ambivalent to the mage vs templars conflict who saw themselves as sailing away with Isabela at the end may definitely think their story is over, while someone who saw their Hawke as another apostate leading the rebellion with Anders would think they were just getting started.

I get the feeling that vagueness of direction may not be great for DLC. I think it's going to be harder to fit it to what people saw their Hawke's roles as. But, then again, maybe I'm wrong.

All of the above?

I mean damn I love my Warden(s) and Hawke(s) but a new character is always good for accessibility and to change things up. I suppose if I had to choose I would go with Hawke because I feel more could be done with their story and the current state of Thedas. This is of course not factoring in any DLC/expansion packs

Warden or Hawke. I wouldn't mind a new character, but I feel like jumping to a new protagonist again will start a trend and we'll never see our old characters again (unless in DA9000-some we end up meeting all the previous characters and teaming up to fight TEH ULTIMATE EVILS or something, but...I'd rather that not happen, thank you).

Hawke's story feels more unfinished than the Warden's. I'd be happy knowing the Warden's fate but I'd like to play Hawke some more. I'd be happy with a new character though.

I would rather them finish Hawke in an Awakening type expansion.

I'm all for a new character but, I hope they really bring out the Origin stories. Even if you can't change races (because of the need for more VA), there could be options like:

Human:
-Noble
-Commoner
-Chantry
-Mage

Or even...

Elf:
-Dalish
-City
-Slave

I hope they keep us waiting for the Wardens return for one more installment, the wardens story is far from over, I wonder what happened when "I" and morrigan went through the mirror.. So new guy in DA3, then Warden in DA4!
