New Protagonist, of course. Warden was just a player avatar, Hawke ran from one big conflict and observed another. Time for a new hero; a hero who saves something and has a personality.
We put our faith in Blast Hardcheese.

Personally, I really like Hawke so I hope he/she sticks around. I loved my Warden, but I can't imagine going back to the silent, expressionless protagonist. I might be okay with a new person entirely, but they would need to finish up Hawke's story first.

Unless there is an epic expansion to DA2, I really don't feel as if they could leave Hawke's story as it is. It felt like it was only just beginning at the end of the game. And the final scenes of the game really made it seem like he/she will have continued importance in the coming events of Thedas. So, I'm guessing either a decently-sized expansion or DA3 will feature Hawke.

See, that's one of the reasons why I feel it's time for a new character. Hawke had a whole game to tell the Hawke story and at the end of the game....there really wasn't much to Hawke's story. What happened in Kirkwall will have repurcussions; there's Mage war and the Qunari will apparently return soon now. But Hawke? There wasn't much interesting in Hawke's story.
Not hating on the character, who has an epic life that could fill a game? But I just think it's time for a character who has an interesting story to step up. There's a massive war on, let's see someone who's willing to fight for something.
And I think the most interesting thing to do with Hawke now, is to make Hawke (imported from the game) as a companion for the new hero. Hawke only has two voice actors and can have a few companion quests that harken back to the second game.
It'd be interesting to see the protagonist of one game being a follower of a new protagonist. Besides, Hawke's more of a follower than a leader anyway.

I would say return to the multiple origins style from the first game, and develop the morrigan-flemeth plot more. This would allow a return of the warden as an npc (please import the race/class and give armor that hides appearance) provided he/she survived. As well, with the ongoing mage-templar war, Hawke could make an appearance quite easily.
While all this could work, I'd much rather the timeframe move forward a bit more so I can stop being caught between ****s in silver armor and a group of people even the devs seem to view as satan-worshipping psychos now...

At this point, what I care more about it that there be no dialogue wheel and that the PC go back to being unvoiced. I really felt distanced fron Hawke.
Not gonna happen.

New would suit me. The Warden's part in the story is finished for now and so is Hawke's. I think they'll both somehow tie back into the story of Thedas eventually - assuming the sequels keep on coming.
Yeah, I would also prefer a new one if possible, though I won't complain one bit if Hawke or the Warden are brought back (and I would SQUEEEEEE over a voiced warden...

I'd like to see my Lady Hawke return in an expansion.
As for DA3, I'd love to see Hawke back as well, or Cassandra!!!

My thoughts precisely, I've been all for this since I finished my first playthrough when the game first came out.

The [Orlesian] Warden-Commander of Ferelden isn't dead and essentially picked up where the Hero of Ferelden left off if s/he made the ultimate sacrifice.da0Xeffect2 wrote...
As much as I would like the Warden to return, it's not possible unless some of us want retcon. Not everyone's Warden survived. Really I don't mind who they bring in for the next game as long as it's not an NPC from either DAO or DA2.
