I agree, Mass Effect is the best piece of fiction ever (that's saying a lot) and my favorite series ever. But if it would have stayed less shooter, it would have been even better.

And this is absolutely true....for you. Which is wonderful. You're totally allowed to have your opinion. For me, that's not true at all. For me, I like that ME2 made it easier to role play a special ops soldier having to handpick your equipment to suit the mission you had to go on.

But the point is this: It's ok to have differences in opinion. It's not ok to disrespect other genres and the people who like them just because they don't agree with you. Just recognize when comment is an opinion and when it's not. that's all.

Eh, I disagree. I can see what you mean, because for myself...I can look at Mass Effect 2 and definately see their was a level design change and an atmosphere change based off of the improved style of play. However, what Bioware did actually made things enjoyable because:

1) Things were improved upon
2) Changing it up offered a refreshing and dynamic view of the Mass Effect Universe.

Don't tell me the first time you started walking in Mass Effect 2 you didn't go, "HOLY CRAP, THIS LOOKS AMAZING!"Image IPB  - because I did.

It paved the way for making Mass Effect 3 THAT much better. Because when I look at Mass 2, I see a transitioning game, one that takes the best from 1, morphs it into something amazing...creates new elements, and then imporves upon those elements for the final chapter.

I think it'll all make sense come a few months down the road.

Why don't we wait a little more time to know better about what's coming next? It's too early to make assumptions, also, they say that better RPG elements is an objetive for this game. And the guys from Game Informer said that the RPG part of the game is improving. So I don't see why are you so paranaoid with that COD conspiracy stuff.

A lot of people were upset that inventory and rpg elements were gutted in me2, and now for me3 all you hear about is how inventory is again limited, melee is enhanced and you can pick up guns on the battlefield "Call of Duty" style.

If fact, it says in the article that rpg elements have been beefed up, but I see specific mention much more to, again, friggin combat.

How is my INVENTORY going to be? I'm glad larger skill trees are coming back, but what about Inventory?

After this trilogy, is Mass Effect going to devolve into pure shooter, and is Bioware catering too much to the Call of Duty/Halo crowd?

Well Bioware only makes RPGs so I'd guess no.

Funny how people are going bananas for Skyrim. Weren't they the same group who complained about how 'dumbed' down Oblivion was compared to MW? Yet people are already harping about how Skyrim will be GOTY despite how bad Oblivion was. Sure, after 5 official patches, a 500MB unofficial patch fixing over a thousand bugs, a 5GB texture pack replacement and 50 other smaller mods to fix numerous gameplay and levelling deficiencies, then it might be GOTY worthy.

The ES series have been around forever. The ME series isn't even half a decade old yet. Skyrim will win multiple GOTYs on name alone, regardless of the quality of the game. It's also why BW would be crazy if they released ME3 anywhere near Skyrim's release date.

As one of the people who complain how dumbed down Oblivion was compared to Morrowind, I take offense! :o I am most definitely not going bananas over Skyrim. I'm sure it will be even more dumbed down than Oblivion was! So Morrowind > Oblivion > Skyrim probably. How I miss the infinitely big world from Arena though. Throw Arena's world and spell creation system into Morrowind and it'd be the perfect RPG. *sigh*

- DA2 they changed the style, ME3 don't
-In DA2 the graphics looked horrible since day one, ME3 looks that it's going to make the same graphical jump of ME1 to ME2
-In DA2 the game import sucks and was pointless, in ME3 the save import is one of the pilars of the game
-Also DA2's team =/= ME3's team

I understand what are you saying, but really I can't understand their reaction. Maybe is anxiety? I'm also positive with the stuff they'll show in the next E3 :D

The entire game is managing inventory for Shepard while he wages war against the Reapers offscreen.

Omni-gellin' a useless item takes 20 minutes real-time and is done by rapid button pressing to add to the intensity factor.

To be fair to Skyrim, the previews and Todd's interviews make it sound a lot more promising than Oblivion. They're not over-hyping the features this time. And the horse armor thing was hilarious. Didn't it start the whole DLC craze? They did redeem Oblivion by releasing SI.

if anything bioware listens to the fans way to much. if anything the fans need to just chill on the demands and let them do what they do best

I think BW is overdoing it. Although I really like what I have seen so far from ME3, I was somewhat disappointed with ME2 (I won't go into that), and I love ME1. The tech and biotic powers make the combat bearable, but are far too weak for my taste. If I want to play a shooter then I rather play another franchise. I play ME because it's a cool RPG and not because it is a shooter.

i love mass effect because of the story and charachters. i think me2 was more charachter driven then it was about the collectors but i think each of those stories were really well written

I say it's catering just enough.

If Bioware once to take the combat in this direction they had to step it up.

Part of the reason I didn't like ME2 was cause I had JUST finished Uncharted 2 a better shooter and that was a way better shooter than ME2.

And I felt that ME2's RPG elements were too lacking to really hold my attention
