That's because the game does not recognize a blood mage Hawke. Nobody does. I kind of doubt Fenris would canonically romance a blood mage Hawke, personally. Fenris is more open-minded about people in general than Anders, he doesn't generally condemn people before he's met them, but he has strong convictions when it comes to demons and making deals with them. I think that's a huge dealbreaker when it comes to being friends with him, much less a romance.Weltea wrote...
I could see it the other way round. After all,Fenris can be friendromanced with a bloodmagic supporting bloodmage Hawke and has no problems whatsoever with that. I'm sure he could overcome his problems with Anders.
Anders on the other hand grows more and more fanatical as the game goes on and flips out if you even suggest templars might not all deserve to die. Also he's so wound up in freeing mages that even if Hawke is romancing him, there isn't a "real" romance going on. Plus he's happy if Fenris is send back with Danarius.
As for Anders... I simply meant that his comments like the Danarius ones could be more easily interpreted as UST that he's trying to ignore than Fenris' could. Not necessarily that it's true, but it's simply a possible alternate interpretation. As long as Fenris isn't a templar or Chantry member he's not a direct oppressor of mages so I don't think Anders would completely villainize him in his mind, at least not in the first two acts.
See, I never got "I despise you" from anything he said. The closest he gets is "you will be the death of me", which isn't vitriol, it just further highlights his conflicted feelings. He never hates Hawke on the rivalry path, he's just torn between what he believes in and what he feels for Hawke.Weltea wrote...
I might not come out bad but Fenris ****es at you for it anyway. Generally he seems to switch between "I care for you,I respect you" and "I despise you"
The worst comment he ever makes is if you're a mage!Hawke and he says, "What does magic touch that it doesn't spoil?" ... And directly afterwards it's obvious he just blurted that out in anger, because he gives this awkward, uncomfortable look. And then he comes to your house to apologize for it later.
So yeah, not seeing "I despise you" in that romance, but I can definitely see it when he talks to Anders.
