Apparently most people never bothered to check out NWN's wonderful multiplayer options, something that kept the game alive for years and still does. The option to play DMed campaigns and roleplay in a persistent world is far from "dumbing down" or "taking away", it only increases the value of the game if done right. Dumbing down is what they did in DA2 so far.
However, since the NWN concept of multiplayer won't fill EA's cash box, there's no doubt they'll do something else instead that probably ruins it. I have no high hopes, but a NWN-style multiplayer DA is what many people were already hoping for long before Origins was released.
Indeed it like see people with torch and fork screaming: Burn the witch! Lol

Good point. I think people are forgetting that bioware has had many years of multiplayer experience. But I also think that taking a singleplayer game and shoehorning a multiplayer component often does more harm than good. Especially in this age of big budget titles where the focus on profit can outweigh user experience sometimes.
We will have to wait and see, I suppose.

And that's probably because most people associate some dumb PvP, F2P or company-hosted servers like WoW with multiplayer. I've spent 5 years or so playing NWN(2)'s persistent worlds and they had much more value to me than the game's story in the end. Something I haven't experienced elsewhere.

DA2 had enough trouble in this regard due to the reduced development time. Imagine how much more they'd have to cut to fit in Multiplayer.
If I want Multiplayer I'll play an MMO. When I want a great single player RPG, I'll play a Bioware game.

hammmm sorry but i dont understeand the point... a multyplayer ala nwn can give a lot of replay value and can bring your character to live an endless adventure... But you prefear have an adventure already told and with an end? I really don't understeand it...Its like people are scared by interarcting with others..
If they made a Dragon Age version of NwN maybe.
If I want to interact with "others" I'll play an MMPORG, that is what they are for.

A) With a nice toolset you have toons of awesome mods...
C) Fanmaded campaigns add a lot of replay value...
For multyplayer gamers we have:
A) For roleplayer the opportunity to enter in a persistent world to roleplay your character
c)Arena modes for who enjoy pvp...
Buts its useless try to explain thing to who want be blind...

I so disagree.
The point of NWN's multiplayer has always been that you can choose or even create the world you want to interact in, with a bunch of people you want to interact with. I don't care for dumb MMOs without roleplay and player-driven storylines at all, thank you.

There's already a new Neverwinter in develpment. And even if there weren't there's nothing stopping anyone from using the previous versions to keep making new content.
No offense, but other people would ruin the experience of a Dragon Age game...
"No really Bill. I keep telling you. Leliana is mine. Hands off! And stop standing around during my nookie scene!"
"Dood maybe you shouldn't have picked the center of the damn camp to do it in then! And put your pants on."

It took a long time for NWN to have that sort of content. I know it took me almost a year to finish my NwN version of Pools of Radiance.
I play games like NWN with people I already know. I've played games like it with strangers and it's totally hit or miss just like any open MP game.
MMPORGs are no better in that respect, but they have a lot of content ready to go and don't rely on anyone making it.

One that cuts off the persistant world and user-created module options, yes.

I'm not talking about co-op in the campaign. I'm not talking about company-hosted servers. I'm not talking about Bioware spending months on creating multiplayer maps, servers or anything, that's what they can do with their Old Republic (a game and multiplayer style I'm not interested in at all).
I'm talking about just an option that means nothing more than 1. a toolset and 2. the multiplayer hooks so people can play a module together. I really don't see what the whole uproar about such an option is about.

Basically, NWN for DA.
But it's wishful thinking at best.
I'm still doubting that there will be multiplayer. If there is, I'm afraid it won't turn out so well.
