Rumors are rumors, except they're pumas. Then they're old shoes.

If they can come up with a kick ass way to incorporate MP.... I'll play it. I do not see any way that adding MP is going to do anything but take time and resources away from SP. You can read the devs talk about why there are no horses in the game (no time), why there are only so many models and maps (no time)...

Given a set amount of time, adding MP can only detract from what SP offers. Something has to change... longer dev time? More investment resources? Probably the later with the aim of increasing sales. Will multiplayer really sway someone into buying a game? I don't know. It would not attract me, that's all I can say.

If there's any truth to the rumor, I hope BW gets what they need to keep the SP awesome.

If BioWare decided to introduce MP into Dragon Age I hope they'll have a much longer dev time for DA3 so it doesn't take away from the singel player experience.

yeah, i totally agree with this particular statement.   Even if I don't necessarily believe the rumour is even true.

I hope they (BW) don't ask for the ability to incorporate more features, I hope they ask for more TIME!  In general!

If they were to make a multiplayer part for DA and it's like the NWN multiplayer I seriously would buy the game without a campaign. I would also end up with zero life outside of the computer I'm afraid...

If its not like NWN I honestly couldn't care less. If they make it and it doesn't affect the campaign I wouldn't care either way.

When Dragon Age was first announced, they said they'd include a multiplayer component similar to that in Neverwinter Nights but it was later cut. I have no idea how much of the MP code, if any, is in the engine.

Multiplayer, No.

Co-op, yes.

Me and my friends used have a riot playing Baldurs Gate Co-op. In fact my fondest memories of the game were from my co-op plays. People seem to forget Bioware have gone that direction before and its only the recent generation that have been purely Single player.

This rumor is false. I remember when Kotaku and others were both claiming Mass Effect III would also have multi-player which we now know is not the case.

Don't believe everything you hear. Until Bioware themselves confirm otherwise, Dragon Age III will be a single player game.

I hope you are right!!

Everyone thinking the Multiplayer will be great, you are fooling yourself, the game will lose 10% more of everything, and we already have seen how much the game have lost, the game will be like Diablo2 but probably less players if your friends can't log because X or Y; you'll need to allow others to join and then? you'll be here whinning about it.

I love you. Was that too forward?

Could multiplayer DA play like TOR? That *could* (in theory) be cool, I could see alot of people liking it. I really don't know what else DA multiplayer could be, the combat wouldn't really work as a real-time pvp game, not to mention the classes have been hideously imbalanced for pvp in DAO and DA2. I guess it would be wave-based pve, with a group of players fighting waves of enemy npcs?

Eh, I'd rather just have a single player game, we'll see what comes of this rumour.

Co-op done right would be pretty cool. If they go the Splinter Cell route and use the co-op to tell a side-story with plot implications on the main game that'd be pretty neat. As far as campaign-wide co-op, unless it's a friend controlling your party members with no plot impact, then no...just no.

AHAHAHAHA.

Oh lord, please let this be false. I believe that they can save this franchise, but if they're going this route I'm completely done.

Multyplayer is not bad as many people seem to imply. I would never use it since I'm not interested and considers it just like a fine extra to a SP game that adds another layer of longevity. DA2's combat could support pretty well a co-op mode extra or something on the like. But it has to be an extra and cannot replace the SP part.

So, before they begin to think of all the nice extras, they should work more on the chore. I mean, I've enjoyed DA2 at the end, more than DA:O but it's still a game with many flaws and that shows a general lack of polish, resource and development time.

It's ok to add multy to very polished games like AC2, RDR, or B:AA (since Arkham City should have a multy part) or the same ME series. But DA2 has still a very long road to take to reach that kind of polish and cohesion that sets great games a part from good or average games. So, another DA2 with multy would seem like a bad joke.

I shall disregard this as merely another bogus multiplayer rumour. For the sake of my sanity.

Anyway, i enjoyed Champions of Norrath and BG, so long as i can still play by myself too i dont mind.

I honestly have no enthusiasm for a multiplayer component; I would vote against it, personally.

Maybe I'm just antisocial.

I agree with this. Multiplayer can be done reasonably well. I haven't played it, but I've seen enough of the multiplayer in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood to know that it's pretty unique and suits that series well. In theory, multiplayer might be done well for Dragon Age, though it's not at all what I come to the franchise for. However, I'd much rather see them spend the time and resources to address the problems of DA2 and make it a more polished experience, rather than just tacking on some multiplayer modes.

Bearing in mind, of course, that these are all very murky rumors right now, and should probably be taken with a grain of salt.

I too think they should allocate all their resources into a strong single player experience. I mean the idea of multiplayer is intriguing and there's potential, but not if it takes away from the single player mode.
